smart move from them
gpt-5.4 is already very capable, and chatgpt/codex pricing relative to usage is among the best for top-tier model access right now
even 2x usage is hard to fully use in normal development, even if you run it on high/xhigh all the time

I think preserving models for internal deployment is risky. I encourage Anthropic to release Mythos, even if it’s a version that over refuses on cyber tasks or routes risky responses to a weaker model, as we did with codex.

The new model and the cybersecurity 'product' are separate, and only the cybersecurity specialized model will have limited release, not the new model itself. So it looks like a general public release for Spud.

but it looks like both anthropic and openai are doing PR stunts around their internal models, "mythos" and "spud"

possible hint at openai next model? not doubt they already have claude "mythos"-level capabilities internally "spud" is their latest pre-trained model, and i would not be surprised if it matches or surpasses mythos unlike anthropic, openai may release it in a controlled way, similar to 5.3 codex, with access limited to trusted users first
