Today we test launched our ARC competition rocket for the first time. A lot was learned and modifications will be made before a second test launch in 2 days. The official ARC qualification launch will take place this Saturday in Acton, MA.

New toy! I got a RunCam 6 to replace my broken 808, and I have a camera shroud from Inverted Pursuits coming soon. From what I have seen, this camera should make some pretty good videos.

Happy 100 years of liquid rocketry! March 16th, 1926 Robert H. Goddard launched the world's first liquid fuel rocket, changing history forever. Speaking of liquid rockets...we had our Preliminary Design Review (PDR) for our team's first liquid rocket, Liquid Courage recently!

"Banana" is my Apogee Zephyr I have been using for testing various things. It was most recently used for my failed camera attempt and my first launch with a Cesaroni motor. I acquired some CTI motors due to the lack of Aerotech inventory lately.

A 2.5-second rocket flight that heralded decades of discovery in space! Today marks 100 years since the first successful test of a liquid-fueled rocket. Robert H. Goddard's achievement would have appeared unimpressive by most measures: His rocket flew just 41 feet in the air, landing in a nearby cabbage patch. I failed my camera attempt. I installed the cover with 4 screws; only to discover later the 4th one was actually a peep hole to see the LED. My 808 camera is destroyed. I will replace it with a RunCam 6.

Spectre's 2nd stage had an igniter or motor failure, but Aidan's first dual deploy attempt worked great.

@alphafox It's actually not unusual for high power model rockets to go over Mach speed.

They got a call from the DOD shortly after this was filmed.

I'm looking at trying a key switch on my next rocket AV bay instead of a pull switch.
