Theres still time to share where you will be standing and taking photos for Artemis II! It would be really amazing to see a bunch of submissions from people so we could follow up on all the different angles everyone will get.

We are looking forward to the @NASAArtemis II launch attempt next week. The launch window opens at 6:24 PM on Wednesday, April 1. Reminders: 🚀 Artemis is the largest rocket launched from NASA's Kennedy Space Center and it will be loud.

@rocketgobrrrrr Good luck on that! Take a look at Altus Metrum stuff if you haven't already, its fully open source and a good starting point.

@rocketgobrrrrr Both the 100K shot and eventual larger rocket stack I want to do will need full flight telem the entire way. No telem = no tracking = I'm very sad. Since I'm running an alt-unlocked GPS, it'll be really nice to know in real time what my stack is doing through the full flight.

@rocketgobrrrrr I need HAM anyway, since my boards run on 433 and the primary TX board is 1W transmit power. Will probably post about that once I get that in

@rocketgobrrrrr I did the math at one point and it was "your batteries are now your entire payload" and "the FCC hates this one simple trick" amounts of TX power

@rocketgobrrrrr Sims suggest anywhere between 100-150K for my flight in May depending on motors used and sustainer light conditions. I'm planning to attempt 100K+ again in September, but until this one works/doesn't work, I can't claim whether it's another 100K shot or 200K+.

Custom Avionics for my 100K shot and beyond. The bigger board is an extremely modified Altus TeleMega with an unlocked GPS module breakout. The smaller board is a full telemetry+GPS+deployment altimeter based on the same firmware.

@rocketgobrrrrr I wish. A buddy of mine spent literally thousands of dollars developing a LORA based remote start board and never got it working, because the firmware on splits just suuucks. That's why I'm just going with the brute force "you get voltage now" strat haha

@rocketgobrrrrr My current best plan is just using a relay hooked up to an RC controller and program it to fail open when signal is lost. It's kinda squarewheel, but I think it'll work so long as I can route the RF source out of the giant chunk of metal that is my coupler/cam shroud

@_pointyendup yeah, working a similar issue as well. hoping i can install a switch that can be controlled over 2.4 GHz in between the battery and the camera/VTx power split

@rocketgobrrrrr 2x runcam splits, one on each side. Need to figure out remote start still because I anticipate sitting on the pad for a while and overheating/depleting battery/running out of storage are pretty big concerns.
