The world needs a success story. Syria has defied the odds and the expectations of many. Our partnership must help the Syrian people continue this progress.   Excellent to see President @AH_AlSharaa and Foreign Minister @AsaadHShaibani again, with my colleague @alexanderdecroo.

On the homeland of Christianity and in a country like Syria, historically known for its pluralistic and open-minded society, where the majority of communities liberal Sunnis, Christians, Alawites, Druze, Kurds, Ismailis, Yazidis, and others have long embraced tolerance, secular education, and cultural diversity, a disturbing phenomenon is now emerging in schools. These young girls wearing full-cover niqabs, participating in rituals that involve chanting for jihad and other extremist slogans. These are children who, by rights, should be experiencing the innocence of childhood, learning, playing, and growing in environments that nurture curiosity, critical thinking, and social cohesion not being indoctrinated with rigid, militant ideologies. @SallyObeid

مظاهر التفاعل الشعبي في سوريا مع فلسطين مبهجة طيبة، وليست بغريبة على أهل سوريا. وهذا شيء يسير من نتائج الحرية التي تحققت -بفضل الله- على أيدي أناس ينتمون للأمة. وليست بقية شعوب المنطقة بأقلّ اهتماما -لو أمنت على نفسها- في التعبير عن تضامنها الحقيقي مع الأسرى والمسرى.
