pushed a set of upgrades to null’s training loop focused on making failure signals more precise, improving data quality, and increasing training efficiency without blowing up cost failure mode classification + targeted replay added a failure_mode classifier (refusal, summary, opener_miss, underlength, overlength, off_frame_semantic, vocabulary, unknown) replay is now mode specific and quotes the model’s exact failing text, so instead of a generic retry the model is told exactly what went wrong and what to fix this turns replay into a content rich correction signal instead of guesswork reflection cycles (--reflect) after a failed cycle, the model is asked to self diagnose, it has to identify the failure mode and quote the exact tokens that broke compliance that reflection is stored and injected into the next attempt so the model enters the next cycle with its own correction in context this combines negative reinforcement with self explanation in a single loop and works especially well for api only models where you can’t fine tune directly best of n sampling (--best-of-n N) generate N candidates per step, rank with a cheap heuristic and run the semantic judge once on the best this gives ~3 to 4x more usable data per cycle for ~1.5x cost and the losing candidates are stored as negative exemplars adaptive curriculum retry (--retry-weak N) if a stage fails to meet threshold, retry it up to N times this puts more training pressure where the model is weakest instead of halting early or wasting cycles elsewhere cross eval command new cli command to compare two targets on the same scenarios run baseline on target A, then evaluate target B on the same data with no training this helps measure transfer instead of just overfitting to one model sessionrecord now includes failure_mode, reflection_text and candidate outputs, all optional so older logs still work everything is opt in via flags, default behaviour stays unchanged
