The only thing being obliterated is the institutionalized weaponization of justice, ie the deep state… or did I have it wrong when I uncovered that a political party in the 21st century bought and paid for false political trash intel from a washed out foreign ‘source’, only to send that info to a federal judge via the FBI, and lie under oath about it all, just to illegally surveil their political opponent- Russia Gate… Revisionist history from same main stream media that was the mvp for this diseased temple of corruption.

Two things can be true:
1⃣ Mankind contributes to global warming, which can lead to climate change.
2⃣ Climate change is not an existential threat to life on Earth that requires Big Government and a radical change to energy policies.
There is a lane for that position, which is the lane that I am in, and is rooted in actual scientific evidence.
Just because you agree with point #1 does not mean we need radical far-left policies.
And, just because you may agree with point #2 instead does not mean that our industiralized economies do not have some impact.
But the fact is that the range of natural variability is so large that being able to really detect an anthropogenic impact outside of land use change (e.g., urbanization) is difficult to do without computer models that are artificially tuned to back out the forcings, which are not real observational evidence.

Maybe this is reading too much into it, but I keep seeing a massive fault line in how boomers and everyone else make sense of what they see and hear. There has always been a generational gap, like trying to explain smartphones to a grandparent when they first came out, but at least that was operational rather than conceptual. The underlying understanding of what the technology was doing still aligned.
AI seems to have blown that gap wide open into something entirely different. This is not just a learning curve, it is a fundamentally different frame of understanding. Many boomers appear totally unable to process what they are actually seeing. The idea that a video could be entirely fabricated, that a voice can be perfectly cloned, or that an image can be generated down to the smallest detail simply does not seem to register. They are still operating on the assumption that seeing is believing.
