Ex-CIA agent John Kiriakou on Trump’s FAILURE in Iran: “You can’t bomb civilian infrastructure… we do, but it’s a war crime... it hasn't led to the collapse of the govt. When are we going to [realize] that what we're doing isn't working?"

Beyond its mines, speedboats and array of anti-ship missiles, the "real" means of maritime disruption in Iran's possession is an arsenal of advanced marine drones. Informed Iranian sources privately say the mines are old technology in comparison. This is to say nothing about the possibility of both Hormuz and Bab El-Mandeb being shut down. Underestimating Iranian capabilities is what got Trump into this mess. Repeating that behavior would be another mistake. PS. The world's largest militaries, including the US and Russia, reportedly have military dolphins.
Kaitlan Collins@kaitlancollins

"To give you a sign of the desperate measures [Iran is] contemplating, the Wall Street Journal reported today that they're contemplating suicide dolphins, you know, dolphins equipped with mines to try to go after U.S. ships," @ksadjadpour says. "That's not a that's not a measure which projects real strength."

It is my belief that Trump realizes this blockade and economic warfare campaign comically overpromised and underdelivered, and now is likely to resort back to military strikes.

The spineless mess of Republican Congressional cowards leads to this. They hope that leaving the President unchecked, he will stop. Instead he feels emboldened and does more insane shit. There are few things as shameful in American history as this set of Republicans in Congress. And their inaction will be a shame they will carry for generations.

This report by WSJ has a gaffe: Iran’s Leader Seyyid Mujtaba Khamenei has banned any discussions about Iran’s nuclear issue with Trump’s regime. FOR NOW, Tehran has no intention to discuss that matter. Missile program has been/will be RED LINE from day 1 to the doomsday.

NEW: There's been a lot of talk about "division" in Iran amid the confrontation with Israel/the US. Nobody is denying the seismic effects of the war, including impacts of the removal of Ali Khamenei. But shifts in power dynamics in Tehran actually point to more unity than prior to the war, with fringe radicals isolated from every direction. Case in point: even hardliner bastions like Kayhan have effectively joined forces with pro-reform voices to call out radicals. This would be unheard of under Ali Khamenei. The Reformist newspaper Etemad could barely contain its astonishment, writing, "Who would have thought that one day, in the middle of Iran's most important negotiations with America, Kayhan would publish words criticizing extremist behavior?" But while the war has had an overall unifying effect, that doesn't mean real underlying divisions are hiding behind the surface. As academic and parliamentary researcher Arash Ajorloo succinctly put it: "The start of the external ceasefire was, unfortunately, the end of the internal ceasefire. Let us return to the internal ceasefire."
