Very pleased that Richard Tunnicliffe has been chosen to be the @WelshLabour candidate in the Caerphilly Senedd By-election. Richard was chosen by local Party members and will carry forward the legacy of Hefin David.

Just heard the awful news of the passing of Hefin David MS. He succeeded me as Assembly Member for Caerphilly in 2016. My thoughts are with his family and many friends. He was my friend as well as a trusted colleague and comrade.

So sad to hear of the passing of George Foreman. Not only a great boxer but a great human being and personality also. I’m the same age and I will never forget his most famous fight the “rumble in the jungle” even though he lost. My George Foreman Grill is always well used. 🥊

So sorry to read of the passing of Dafydd Ellis Thomas. Although we had a different view of politics in Wales I never doubted his sincerity and commitment.

The last of the three great Man Utd players passed on today. The statue outside Old Trafford will remain a permanent reminder of their greatness. RIP Denis Law ⚽️

Last night, Jayne and I went to see ‘Nye’ in the Wales Millennium Centre @theCentre. It was brilliant! Superb acting from @michaelsheen. The play reaffirmed our belief in the NHS and the socialist values which underpin it.
