Retired 4-star admiral and former Navy SEAL William H. McRaven—the man who oversaw the mission that killed Osama bin Laden—delivered a blistering assessment of President Donald Trump. McRaven’s comments stood out not just for how direct they were, but for who they came from: a highly respected military leader warning about leadership, unity, and America’s standing in the world.

A couple of months ago a senior No.10 advisor told me to "reflect" after calling Keir Starmer a liar. After the past week, I have reflected. Keir Starmer is the worst Prime Ministerial liar of my adult lifetime > Mail on Sunday > dailymail.co.uk/debate/article…

BREAKING: "My focus is on providing calm, level-headed leadership in the national interest." Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer says he stands by his decision to not join the initial offensive strikes on Iran. trib.al/7tWxycM 📺 Sky 501, Virgin 602, Freeview 233

The UK is fully committed to the security of Cyprus and British military personnel based there. We’re continuing our defensive operations and I've just spoken with the President of Cyprus to let him know that we are sending helicopters with counter drone capabilities and HMS Dragon is to be deployed to the region. We will always act in the interest of the UK and our allies.

@stephenpollard Wrong. It shows that this government believes in International Law.

It's good and right the UK is now involved in the Iran operation. But the decision to take part now shows the idiocy of Starmer's position, which is that the UK (and thus any nation) should only take military action against an enemy after we have been attacked. In other words, it's wrong to act against an enemy to prevent it attacking you - you have to wait until it does. Everything wrong with this government summed up in this.

@thom_brooks This is absolutely correct. Poorly thought out headline-grabbing knee-jerk reactions can have disastrous consequences.

At a moment when politics can feel overheated, the Prime Minister’s calm and pragmatic leadership is exactly what the country needs. Serious challenges require seriousness of purpose — not noise. Steady, measured government builds lasting trust.

The Iran regimes' malign influence on us must stop. I've written, with other Labour MPs, to Security Minister Dan Jarvis to urge the UK to: - Proscribe the IRGC today - Take action against other organisations linked to the regime - sanction Press TV who still have a base in UK

It looks like Israel and the USA have struck Iran. The UK - and the British Labour movement - has every interest in supporting the people of Iran in toppling Khamenei. But we cannot go into a war whose aims and conduct we have no part in defining. Our forces should defend British territory against any Iranian attacks and work for peace, human rights and stabilisation throughout the region. While we're at it, let's clear out the IRGC proxies from the UK.

@RhonddaBryant Chris is right. The reality is that if Wales were separated from England, the tax bill for Welsh people would be huge if we wanted to maintain the current levels of public expenditure.

This is a lie. Wales spends more than the tax raised in Wales. So Welsh taxes don’t cover what is spent in Wales let alone go towards expenditure elsewhere. Last year’s Westminster settlement for the Welsh Government was the highest ever.

If you live in Wales, your taxes are going towards paying £45bn to build a railway line that's...just in England. If you believe Wales should be in control of our rail funding then vote Plaid Cymru in May.
