I think after 30 years of teaching I've nailed the German pronunciation of Brecht (I drop the 't' these days.) Happy(ish) to stand corrected!

@MichaelRosenYes I always struggled with Shostakovich and Rostropovich, pronouncing each one very differently, until I moved to Azerbaijan and learned a bit of Russian. Now I have a decent go at both with some consistency.

Can't think of a more perfect pop song than Fast Car. Not a word wasted. It was the song on the radio when I packed & left home as an 17 year old. Wonderful to hear of why it's so special to others in this beautiful programme. 'We gotta make a decision.'

Just remembering the only Manchester derby I ever got to was in 1993 when @Jenntickle told me to put on a tie, lent me a Ladbrokes jacket & helped smuggle me into Maine Road as her co-worker. Niall Quinn scored first & Cantona equalised. It was great! Best ⚽️ city in the world!
