Guys, when it comes to my time on Twitter. I am trying to be the best I can be. I know that I am not the most popular or have the greatest following. I try to help where I can. I know a lot of people hate me and don't want me to be here on this app, but I am trying my best.

10 DAYS, 10 YEARS: 2016 Counting down each year of the last decade that shaped me into who I am today leading up to my 40th on the 27th. What a career year -- @ametsoc CBM achieved, covered my 1st space stories, 💃🏻 awareness for childhood cancer, and an "I ❤️ Lucy" moment 🥰

Changing the language doesn't change what it is, and there's nothing wrong with that. In any conversation I've ever had about what I do with anyone, the term comes up. Legit, I have NEVER had a negative reaction from people IRL, or from normies online. The only issues have been: - From other storm chasers in the online space Thats it. It comes exclusively from people behind a screen who participates in the same thing that we do. Fuck em.

I had a stark realization the other day: I was explaining to someone my spring & summer activities… I am finding lately I’m finding different terms and other ways to kind of dance around the term to describe it… So they said “so you’re a storm chaser“ Honestly, for the first time ever, I felt embarrassed. It felt like Big Bird in the meme at an interview panel with everybody else who’s normal. I mean I get it. And many of you also get it. We get the “why“. And the ‘why’ might be different for some of us. Maybe it’s the ‘gram. Maybe it’s getting that perfect time lapse. Maybe it’s just experiencing nature without all the cameras. To some people outside of this world, it seems rather Goulish, which is a term that some columnist from the Wall Street journal or some big publication anyways… Used to describe our activities a few years back. And it’s stuck out to me. Because at first I was obviously offended… But honestly, I don’t have any defense. They’re right. Most of it is. And if I took the time to really explain the awe and the actual palpable presence that I believe is there when you’re looking up at a rotating wall cloud about to throw down a drillbit, or that I have a personal name for this presence, I suppose I would think I’m odd too. It is quite an exhausting conversation to try to explain that the best situation is it’s out in the middle of nowhere not hurting anybody. I’ve always dove head first 110% into things that I am really passionate about. I kind of do my own flavor out there it took me a solid nine years to figure out. I used to get really excited for this stuff. Maybe it’s because I’ve fallen in love with something else too. 🤷🏻‍♂️

@lorigracewx @CrazyGabey I’ve only ever thought of quitting because some former friends of mine convinced me that I could never be good enough or smart enough. For better or worse models didn’t have as much to do with that 😂

Over the years I've met a few people who quit storm chasing altogether. Once in a while I understand why, then I'm back to HRRR wishcasting. Have you ever thought of quitting? Why? Do you know anyone who quit? Did they tell you why?

@lorigracewx The current zeitgeist since yesterday feels reactive. In the purest sense. I think we (royal we) had a good run with forecasts of upper-end days verifying, and had grown comfy. Like people had forgotten this can happen. Its all ok. We'll live.

Okay, everyone busted, from the big guns to armchair forecasters. There's nothing new to the discussion worth raging over. Move on. My takeaway is this: I'll feel less like a putz when I bust under a blue sky this season. It happens to everyone.

@RaulFrescasWx There is currently a former fire station for sale near me. It used to be the station i was a member of. It would need A LOT of renovations to be friendly to live in.

@RaulFrescasWx This is truth. Housing around here is a bit ridiculous at the moment. We did consider a combination commercial residential space a while back, but those got snatched up as well.

Looks like I will not be covering South Central PA today, as Truck 1 has elected to create a window in the side of the engine block. Look for YT content coming up, on how to swap your motor.

Update - At $585/mo for 84 months, it can stay right there, too. I said questionable, not stupid.

@cjmoren01 It sucks hard, too. I just put $400+ in a windshield in this truck like 3 days ago. That being said, I don't think I'll be swapping the motor. I spent some time under this thing today, and the unibody is now severely compromised by rust. Looks like Truck 1 will be replaced.
