🚨 MURDER-SUICIDE: Ex-Husband Brian Shoots Mother of His Two Young Children Dead Outside Her Home, Flees With the Kids, Then Kills Himself Brian Schnurr a chiropractor, shot and killed his ex-wife Mikaela Durfey a licensed professional counselor in front of her home. Community members rushed to help and tried to resuscitate her, but she was pronounced dead at the scene. Schnurr shot Durfey, then fled in a blue Dodge Challenger with their two young children (both under age 4). He abandoned the vehicle about a mile away, leaving the children inside unharmed. Schnurr was later found dead in a nearby desert area from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The two young children were left alone in the abandoned car. They are now orphaned. Schnurr and Durfey were married on April 18, 2021. Durfey filed for divorce in July 2025. Schnurr moved out the following month. Marana Police are investigating the case as a murder-suicide. The investigation is ongoing.

@MegEBrock If you want ‘family friendly’, go to Burger King. I was on a flight once from Boston to Paris and a child of about 4 cried the entire time. All night. The parents didn’t tell her once to stop. Sat there like they were the only ones on the plane. This shit has to stop.

People will say this is anti-child but I think it’s a reaction to the gentle parenting trend. The last two times I was at nice restaurants I was seated near children under 5. One family had two toddlers on loud iPads and didn’t not parent them when they became unruly. The other family had a baby that screamed for almost half the meal. We were with an older relative who told me they weren’t even allowed to go to a restaurant until they were well into elementary school and could act respectfully. No one wants to listen to a screaming child when they’re out for a nice meal. Not all spaces are or should be child friendly. I’ll also add—I’d love to see restaurants adopt airline device rules. Take phone calls outside and wear headphones if you want to watch something.

I find it hard to believe that birth rates are below replacement level because of affordability, since birth rates are higher in countries with extreme poverty, were higher for past generations in Western countries when people had far fewer resources, and even now in the US, for example, the poorest people have the highest birth rates. I truly believe this is largely an ideological problem. I know many women who definitely have the resources to raise children, but are choosing not to have children and instead be career focused. Others didn't necessarily intend to be childless but they focused on career for too long and their marriage prospects dwindled as they aged and they end up childless and unmarried by their mid 30s to early 40s.

A woman is loved best by an older man. With older men, her eternal childlike nature is condoned, and her stupidity is frequently forgiven. They look through the lens of behaviour and general disposition and see the youthful “innocence” in her, and treat her accordingly, as a child. A 23-year-old man, considering himself mature enough to think independently, expects the same level of awareness and thoughtfulness from his female counterpart. This high logical standard can be detrimental to a woman’s whimsical and emotional modus operandi. However, to a 40-year-old man, a 25-year-old woman is not “old enough to think” independently. It is not love. It is our design, as humans, to rarely consider those far younger than us old enough to ever be able to think and act like us, regardless of their age and our age difference. So, a 40-year-old man anticipates certain behaviours, such as mood swings, tantrums, and histrionics, as part of the package of dating a younger woman. This man, seeing himself as sufficiently mature, perceives his younger woman as not yet reasonable. Thus, he is gracious. He chastises little, criticises sparingly, and adapts to her psychological tendencies far better than men her age could. This is literally how women want to be loved. There is no safer place to be a woman than in an older man’s companionship. Women know this. They want this. Those on social media expressing displeasure towards these arrangements are swines.
