I’m done. A life without sexuality will never be a life worth living to me. I could handle being a half zombie but this I can’t. I’ve tried filling the void #PSSD left with the gym and a bunch of other shit but it just doesn’t work. Nothing is going to replace this nor is anything going to make me feel less abused or humiliated. I will never again look at other people and not hate them for having sth that was taken away from me. I don’t know how people in this community find a way to continue but I’m not one of them.

”The dose makes the poison” does not apply when it comes to antidepressants. They are inherently toxic even at prescribed doses. reddit.com/r/PSSD/s/Ab8re…

Randy was killed by his neurologist two years ago. He was a kind man and a talented artist, only 34 years old, with a full life ahead of him. But listening to his doctor altered his course and ultimately ended it all. I miss our talks, and I’m so angry that you were taken.

@hanna_pssd I‘m so tired of the ‘have you tried keto and long walks in the park’ comments. Yes, we’ve tried everything. It’s a brain injury. If you care about victims donate to research instead of implicitly victim blaming us as if our lifestyle was what caused PSSD.

When we were still healthy, we were given neurotoxins. Now that they have severely disabled us, this is what we are being told. We never needed the poison. But we do need treatment now.

I wouldn’t be surprised if these drugs do cause issues like this in humans. We know that SSRIs cause PSSD in humans, which is a devastating neuroendocrine disorder with no treatment. If you are on these meds, you must taper off slowly when going off: theinnercompass.org/taper

Everyday with PSSD is hell. Whole life taken away all because I took a common medication, SSRI antidepressant, in 2019 to help my generalized anxiety. Quit after 25 days because it made me 100% numb with no pleasure and still stuck this way over 5 years later. Time to end it all

This psychiatrist, Ben Sessa, is only suspended for 12 months? He had a romantic relationship with a vulnerable patient and "the patient has since taken her life." 12 months is not a consequence. abc.net.au/news/2024-03-0…

Behind every strong man is a strong woman. I've gotta give the biggest shoutout to my wife. She has been so incredibly supportive throughout horrific PFS journey. There's no way I could do this all this without her. Thank you for what you do, baby. Together, we'll change the world for the better.

I strongly believe @POTUS @SecKennedy needs to trigger a national emergency for psychiatry. Millions of people with brain damaged from psych medications. How is millions brain damaged not a national emergency? #akathisia #tardivedyskinesia

I have a question for #PSSD sufferers that have windows. Do you experience a slew of awful physical symptoms along with them or do you just feel back to normal?

I guess some of them hold that voicing suicidal ideation is just attention seeking. Maybe she thought she was calling you out on it? While others will have you locked up at the slightest hint. Either way zero compassion. You can tell they follow their (poor pseudo scientific training) the human being in front of them doesn’t matter

If I had to use one word and one word only to describe my experience of being a psychiatric patient for decades, it would be "humiliating". It was relentlessly humiliating. From being talked to and treated like I was an idiot from my first brush with "mental healthcare" and the sugar-coated lie that is "you're not crying because of the bullies at school- you're crying because you have a brain chemical imbalance" To every negative development in my life being attributed to my diagnosis (ie my faulty brain) and every positive development being attributed to "the paroxetine's clearly helping so why don't you stay on it for another six months" To the times I was laughed at- literally- by psychiatrists for daring to suggest stopping paroxetine can cause withdrawal symptoms and what I was experiencing was withdrawal. I was severely harmed by a psychiatric drug and the system as a whole, with physical, tangible consequences. But the way that harm was caused and then denied was utterly humiliating- and for me that sense of humiliation might be the most insidious and persistent harm of all.
