as someone who works with data, there are simply far too many variables in football as well as possible explanations for the data for you to rely on it that much. The best use of the data is to identify players to scout because they look interesting.

We have very good “macro” stats, tbh. But on a player level its so easy for stats to be completely misleading. At least at the moment, we don’t have…
