@VENTURASHERIFF Good job arresting them, but why such low bail which seems it would allow them to be released and then why would they show up in court? Seems that large an operation deserved much higher bail or a no-release, which wasn't mentioned. Would love someone to answer this.
@BeccaWhitnall don’t listen to all the noise. The majority of Conejo residents appreciate the fact that you are keeping the Acorn politically neutral and presenting a balanced view. Keep it up!
@BeccaWhitnall the silent majority supports you and thank you for keeping the Acorn as a community newspaper for everyone and not just a publication for one side. Keep doing you!
At approximately 5:10 pm, Caltrans closed State Route 203 in Mono County between Meridian Blvd and the junction with U.S. Highway 395 due to whiteout conditions and heavy snowfall. There is no estimated time of reopening. Keep an eye on quickmap.dot.ca.gov for updates.
Why is the parking lot of this office building a storage yard for Athens Services? Is the city not attracting enough business to fill the building? Bulldoze it and build housing on this wasted land.
Sports metaphors being tossed about in community college board race. A reminder these candidates are separated by just 69 votes. Or as some may say, it’s coming down to the fourth quarter.
@JCB6119@KyleBJorrey False. The LAPD has several task forces that include Deputy US Marshals. Makes total sense to me that a task force with Marshals attached would be hunting a homicide suspect.
@KyleBJorrey Going to be interesting to see why the US Marshals were involved. They normally wouldn't be involved in a L.A.P.D investigation. Got to be more to this story.
Carrie Howard of Thousand Oaks, seen here in this photo that has been making the rounds, was arrested on suspicion of petty theft for allegedly stealing campaign signs for the conservative candidates in the Conejo Valley school board race, police announced today.
@KyleBJorrey Keep doing your thing. There are a lot of silent people in the Conejo Valley that appreciate hearing a balanced take with both sides being presented. Thanks for understanding your role as a journalist!
Been at this journalism thing awhile. Praise, well, it can be overrated/fleeting. Now someone telling you flat out they’ll be happy to see you go? That’s rare. Points for honesty.
@TOAcornNews Crimes by definition meet certain legal standards, be they firearms related or otherwise. Just because a gun went off doesn't mean a crime was committed. Let's get the fact 1st, then speak up. #guns
Five days after a shooting in Thousand Oaks sent one man to the hospital, no charges have been filed. The sheriff's department is providing no details as to why the shooting didn't constitute a crime.
