I'm currently teaching one of my friend chess, He's rapid rating is currently at 600 on chess. com, I'm challenging myself this month to coach him to a rapid rating of 1200 before the month ends 💪💯

I don’t lie about my rating. My official USCF rating is still in the 1200s because my last tournament was seven years ago. Since then I’ve trained consistently with an IM and my actual playing strength is now around 2000–2100. I’ll admit it, I do enjoy the moment when 1600–1900 players sit down thinking they have an easy win against a ‘1200.’ There’s something very satisfying about watching their confidence evaporate, especially when it happens in round one and they end up losing rating points and dropping out.

The first Day, I visited the chess club in my school, I never new ppl where into chess like that, so I met a random guy, we exchanged pleasantries and he offered to play a game with me, long story short, I lost 10 - nil to him... Ever since then I took my chess growth seriously
