@lukebuckmaster @kentbye I agree with you, Luke. Also, IMO the "UFO" phenomenon is a distraction from important issues that urgently need to be addressed -- many of which Rogan actively makes worse. Anyway I feel gross participating in Naziville/Xitter, so I'm going back to Bluesky now, cheers

@andreeavr Direct embodied experience of being in a virtual world makes VR gaming so compelling for me that I don't like flatscreen games anymore; for me personally VR is the present & future of gaming -- but there's deeper stuff going on with identity, Proteus effect, shared "dreaming" etc

Hot take: What if VR is NOT the future of games? What if the pleasure you derive from controlling a character comes from the mapping of your input onto the virtual world, which is nothing short of brain magic? There is no translation of I/O in VR, all movement is one-to-one.
