Anyway, in 2022, this UN announcement boosted Ukrainians' morale during Russia's war against them. Because, over centuries of imperial dominance, Russia appropriated multiple elements of Ukrainian identity incl. food, culture, folk traditions, religion, songs, and music, declaring them "uniquely Russian."
