@benjamingedan They move the dial negatively. America’s standing is crashing around the world. Trump effect.

Democrats have benefitted from Republicans running politically extreme candidates in otherwise winnable Senate races Are Democrats in danger of returning the favor in Michigan? @jonathanchait makes the case theatlantic.com/politics/2026/…

5 years ago, Democrats introduced a bill to ban gerrymandering in every state nationwide. Every single Republican voted against it.

"those seeking greater democracy and freedom in Venezuela now face another challenge that their predecessors did not: they will likely have little help from the United States...now up to opposition forces to find ways to pressure" the US and the regime. foreignaffairs.com/venezuela/vene…

If you’re mad about Virginia, support a national gerrymandering ban. If you’re not willing to take map-drawing away from politicians in every state, you’re not mad about gerrymandering. You’re mad your side lost this round.

I’ve warned Democrats for months about Hasan Piker’s efforts to insert himself into our party. Read my op-ed in The Washington Post about why the normalization of Piker within the Democratic Party is a mistake Democrats cannot afford to make. wapo.st/4cyGZyT

It’s time for the governor & senators to step in. Democrats have an anti-Semitism problem & nowhere is it worse than Michigan’s state party. But worth noting that a lot of the state parties on both sides are disasters in one way or another.
Josh Kraushaar@JoshKraushaar

"It's extensive," said University of Michigan Regent Jordan Acker, when asked about the level of antisemitism in the state party. "The question we have to ask as Jews is whether we still belong here?"

I do think the algorithm feeds into it and gives imbalanced exposure (def true in our primary) but the hyperbolism is insane lmao That AES would *guarantee* a loss in a year as blue as this is silly. Calling MM a centrist or casting her as a secret Sinema is silly!

The madman schtick is now more counterproductive than ever. Iran will read this as just more bluster and knows that US blowing up power plants would make the war even more of a disaster for US and Trump himself... It would do nothing to secure the HEU, open the Strait, or end the war, but it would cause oil prices to spike, destabilize markets, lead to retaliation that would put the lives of US troops and civilians in the region at risk and further destroy energy infrastructure, and be a permanent moral stain on the United States and Trump. Trump had the chance weeks ago to declare victory and get out but nearly everything he has done since then has made things worse--including this latest desperate and counterproductive threat.
Gregory Brew@gbrew24

A lot going on here, but upshot is that there will be no response to Iran attacking shipping, US will maintain the "blockade," and talks are still on track (though delayed somewhat).

Es repudiable el uso de consignas racistas en las manifestaciones políticas venezolanas. El futuro de Venezuela se construirá sobre la base del respeto, la dignidad y la inclusión.
