Americans everywhere are seeing their health premiums jump—sometimes by double or even triple digits. President Trump and Republicans in Congress could have stopped it. They didn’t. Massachusetts is done waiting on Washington. I’m investing $250 million from the Commonwealth Care Trust Fund to shield 270,000 people, families, and small businesses from spiking health care costs. But this shouldn’t fall on states. President Trump and Congress need to do their job. Extend the credits.

When public health decisions aren't grounded in science at the federal level, states have to step up. In 2025, we expanded Massachusetts’ authority to set our own vaccine schedules and requirements — and made sure vaccines recommended by DPH are covered by your insurance.

Since 1991, the hepatitis B vaccine has cut pediatric infections by 99%. It’s safe and it works — saying otherwise puts our children in danger. Here in Massachusetts, @MassDPH is led by a doctor, guided by science, and still strongly recommends hep B shots for newborns.

Less than 24 hours after the shutdown ended, every dollar in SNAP benefits owed to Massachusetts families was loaded onto their EBT cards. That only happened because of the incredible, around-the-clock work of the @DTA_Listens team. In Massachusetts, we take care of each other.

President Trump’s cruelty knows no bounds. Our scheduled SNAP payment went out this morning, so Massachusetts families who missed earlier payments should now have funds available on their cards ready to buy food. We’re reviewing what the latest court ruling means for those expecting benefits next week. President Trump needs to stop playing politics with people’s lives and pay full SNAP benefits for everyone.

SNAP UPDATE: I’m directing SNAP benefits to be processed today — and paid IN FULL starting tomorrow. Americans are going hungry because President Trump chose to play politics with their lives. People need to eat. We’re making sure they do.
