Two days ago, I traveled to Jodhpur for work. But from the moment I got off the train, I felt uncomfortable. I wanted to confront them, but I couldn’t. I froze, and I hated myself for not speaking up. That whole day felt wasted. Instead of focusing on my work, I was just trying to get through the discomfort. When I returned to Jaipur next day, it happened again. I was in an auto when a group of men in a Scorpio slowed down beside me. More staring. The number plate was from UP. This time, I felt real fear. In that moment, I made a promise to myself if I ever have a daughter, I won’t let her grow up in India feeling unsafe like this. I will do everything in my power to protect her no matter what it takes.
