In 2019, my brother was working for a businesswoman in Idumota, Lagos. That day, she accused him of stealing her gold ring and raised an alarm. Before anything could be verified, a mob gathered and beat him to death.
Later, she found the ring with her own daughter.
Just like that… my brother was gone over something he didn’t do.
Till today, I still don’t know how to process it. The pain sits heavy in my chest. The anger comes and goes, but it never really leaves. Sometimes I think about how he didn’t even get the chance to defend himself, how everything ended so quickly… and it breaks me all over again.
If I’m being honest, a part of me died with him that day.

There’s this guy, my brother’s friend. He worked as a laborer in a leather company. But the man knew leather inside out.
One day, I told him, “I have money, you have the skills. Let’s build something together.” He agreed. That’s how we started our company.
I bought two machines to start, an insole machine and a cutting machine. I didn’t know anything about leatherwork, so I let him handle everything. My plan was simple, watch, learn, and slowly get the hang of it.
A year later, things were going really well. Our company was thriving. I trusted him completely.
Then I had to leave for just a month.
But when I came back everything was gone. The machines Sold. Customers materials Sold too. He disappeared.
And the worst part is all those people came to me because they know I’m the owner. They wanted their money, their materials, their products. I was left with debt, and the heartbreak of trusting the wrong person.

Jos is a town founded by migrant tin workers in the early 20th century. This workers came from places like Kano, katsina Bauchi etc, infact Jos was under Bauchi province until 1926 when it became Plateau province Descendants of this workers are now inhabitants of downtown Jos. Jos have now expanded to converge with town like Bukuru which was a different town before now but now part of Jos , Bukuru is now Jos South LG, while original Jos town is Jos North LG
