I feel like Rick is so adept at shoving down his conscience when it comes to the existing family, Beth in particular, but he's still very vulnerable to Diane, and it opens such a potent burning guilt opportunities. Him seeing himself be a deplorable old creep through her eyes

An underutilized rickorty angle is Rick not just feeling guilty because of Beth or Morty himself, but him feeling a particularly big guilt when he thinks of Diane and what she would think if she saw him. Not even the "cheating" but her loving husband fucking THEIR young grandkid

I feel like we got to see a lot of facial expressions that we don’t get to see Rick make. All we ever see is frowning, surprise, anger, sometimes even regret… but never outright fear and terror.
