I never dreamed how hard it would be to take care of a dementia patient. It breaks my heart that my mom has lost so much of who she was. May God give me strength as I care for her, and may He cover us both with mercy and grace. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

@mymomcare It was impossible to put weight on it for over a month, but it didn't hurt as long as I didn't try to stand. What really hurts sometimes (no matter whether I move or not) is the arthritis in my shoulder! 😂

I fell off a ladder and broke my wrist 8 years ago. It's the only bone I've broken. What about you?

@ThrillaRilla369 Have you read "The Big Year" by Mark Obmascik? Or watch the 2011 movie w/ Steve Martin, Jack Black, and Owen Wilson. Made me a bit of a birder.

@AuthorGFAllen Aside from the Bible, I'd say "Christy" by Catherine Marshall. I became a teacher and a Quaker.

@WilliamWood10 @HannahWardEdu @SuGreer I may not like this new series (I don't even have Netflix) but I love the chance to talk about LIW and LHOTP! I've been a fan of the books and the author for 60+ years.

@WilliamWood10 @HannahWardEdu @SuGreer And like Laura and Grace, it is believed that she died (age 75) from complications from diabetes, which ran in the family. She married a widower and was a stepmother to his two children. And she had a career as a printer.

@BiblicalBeauty I chose to be a public school teacher because I saw that as the ministry to which God called me, but I was becoming increasingly frustrated because there was no way I could meet the needs of all my students & then came the state tests. Teaching changed dramatically as a result 🙁

Both of my older children needed a much longer time period than I anticipated they might need to learn to read. We kept at it, and one day, it suddenly clicked for our oldest, and she immediately became a bookworm. Our middle child has unexpectedly had a similar breakthrough this week, and is happily announcing, “I can read!” I’m so thankful for the flexibility that homeschooling provides. They were never compared to everyone else in a class or made to feel that they were failing or dumb simply because they needed more time than others to learn this vital skill. I had the freedom to adjust to their individual needs and help them keep learning in multiple other ways while we practiced reading at their own pace. Children are different, and homeschooling makes it possible to honor those differences instead of labeling them as deficiencies.
