@iconredesign What's the point of making a super thin phone but then still give it a huge camera bump? Surely someone who wants a super thin phone is willing to sacrifice camera quality in favor of thinness? Otherwise why buy a thin phone like this at all?

Fun fact: The vast majority of iPhone Air units in existence today are on iOS 26.0, have zero battery cycles, are manufactured on or before September 2025, have never been activated, and are simply sitting brand-new in sealed boxes and never used

@jacobtechtavern If you post 2 graphs that say "Swift vs SwiftUI" and "Objective-C vs SwiftUI vs Swift" I know for a fact you have absolutely no idea what you're talking about. Dude probably thinks Swift is the network that banks use for some reason

Is Apple giving up on SwiftUI? Maybe: Mastodon went wild recently over a rumour shared by Steve Troughton-Smith: “I have heard that SwiftUI has been losing political capital, and credibility, internally at Apple because it has repeatedly failed to meet software engineering goals, and needs. It’s no longer thought of as the clear default choice for new stuff. That might explain why it was deemphasized at WWDC compared to the past few years.” Spicy stuff. I look forward to the next edition of "Apple’s internal use of SwiftUI" by Alexandre Colucci. We can cross-reference whether this rumour is substantiated by seeing whether the SwiftUI usage has plateaued across the internal iOS binaries. Read the ultimate scientific performance comparison right here 🧪 blog.jacobstechtavern.com/p/swiftui-vs-u…

My app was rejected because of an iPad Bug. I fixed it on the simulator. The reviewer rejected again. So I bought the exact iPad model the reviewer used, an 11 inch M3 iPad Air. The app worked on first run. I then screen recorded it, sent that in. App was just approved.

@loverofapps That’s annoying. In my experience Apple does a pretty good job of approving. Normally the kick backs are legitimate. Can’t speak for your case. The employee probably had an issue on their iPad.

What's the point of the System Status page if the values are hardcoded to green? Yes Xcode, I did check that. No Xcode, it does NOT show information.

#Xcode anyone else stuck on selecting account when uploading to #AppStoreConnect today? I love iOS development, always unnecessary reasons to stare at your screen for hours instead of actually developing something

@Sankew06 @app_settings You said "high quality". Anyone even remotely involved with stocks will tell you that the stocks app is useless.

@app_settings The best part is the preinstalled “bloat” on iOS is uninstallable, and they aren’t even useless apps to begin with, they are high quality non duplicated apps

@andrewjclare What level of consoomerism do you have to be on to claim you "need something different" just for the sake of it? Can't tell if fishing for likes or if this is actually a totally reasonable opinion from a totally non-weirdo human being

German utility execs who champion the Energiewende are starting to panic after this month's shocking 12-day wind drought. RWE CEO Markus Krebber posted a desperate plea for more "secure" power supplies this morning on LinkedIn. The situation is coming to a breaking point.

Looking at German electricity this week you could be forgiven for forgetting they've spent FIVE HUNDRED BILLION € on a renewable energy "transition" They're just straight up fossil powered! With high costs, high carbon, and a shrinking economy. I labeled it for you below.

@applesclubs @9to5mac @benlovejoy Just because you can be an idiot, I don't want to be treated like one as well. Feel free to use your computer in kindergarten mode but don't act like it's better for me to have a system that is more and more locked down.

after 9 years of corporate software development, SwiftPM remains flaky as if it started yesterday, and Xcode integration remains famously broken. it is not easy to replace a group of enthusiasts. CocoaPods was built for users and users started to use it voluntarily. I can only imagine how far it would go in 9 years if that enthusiasm weren't crushed by the enterprise. blog.cocoapods.org/CocoaPods-Supp…

@MotivatedDev @mholt6 @DylanMcD8 You typically don't want authentication to pass-through like that. It defeats the security of single sign-on entirely by leaking your password to the service provider.
