Our love of #Lego goes vertical. A new #STEM challenge sparked by friends making flat marble mazes. We offered a further opportunity for them to build and try a vertical design where the marble drops down the pathway. @Richmond_Public

Our new wooden block people have inspired so much play! They are a new favorite. They have our names woodburned on the back too! What Would You Do in a Book About You was the perfect segue into making stories starring ourselves! @Richmond_Public

After reading Arnie the Donut it inspired us to design and paint our own wooden donuts. We will use these in our dramatic play next! @Richmond_Public

We found with using Heggerty our students were good at breaking apart 2 syllable words but needed some extra practice when identifying words with 1 or more than 2 syllables. @Richmond_Public

Two hands-on ways we were practicing syllables lately. Chomping the teeth to the syllables and the cards have the "answer " on the back so they can self-correct. Also sorting animal objects by number of syllables. 1/2

A great turnout for the Richmond St chess club. Twice a week over 80 students from Gr.4-8 participate! @Richmond_Public @dsbn

4. We made little brushes out of some of the different types of greenery and expermented with painting with them. 5. We added some bits to the motar and pestles and grounded them up. 2/2 @Richmond_Public

See how we turned this box of free into 5 nature inspired centres for our classroom this week. 1. Loose parts pictures 2. Freeze items in water and "free" them with droppers and water (great fine motor play) 3. Some yummy smelling "soup" for the water table. 1/2
