Exposing the liars, grifters and hot take makers as we head towards the 2026 election.

The Courts of New Zealand have stopped posting updates on X, shifting instead to a platform with only a fraction of the reach. When government moves to platforms “for the few,” it leaves over half a million Kiwis behind. Public service means serving everyone. Sign the petition: ow.ly/K6Ek50YzuxF

And on a much lighter note…. It’s interesting to see the leader of the Opportunity Party following distinctly non-political accounts on her official authorised Instagram account — such as “Girls Get Off” and “Hot Dudes Reading”. “Girls Get Off” is a New Zealand sex toy company that promotes fast and discreet delivery. Their content features sex tips and product highlights - along with links in their bio to more detailed tips and positions. Her authorised account also follows the very popular “Hot Dudes Reading” page, which has over 1.3 million followers and specialises in photos of attractive men posing while pretending to read books.

This is corporate welfare, plain and simple. Taxpayers are footing the bill and the risk while millions are funnelled into privately owned companies.

Socialism is a mental illness. Stop trying to steal from other people.

Jaw dropping read. Iceland sounds like it’s gone completely nuts

When my grandmother was 99 she had a pacemaker fitted. They flew her to Wellington for the operation. Before they went the guy asked her if she wanted to be resuscitated. She said yes. The guy then asked her again, explaining that it can cause quite painful injuries. She was a completely capable woman of full mental capacity and said yes she understood and please resuscitate her if she needed it. He then asked her a third time, telling her that her quality of life might be different. At that point, my grandmother turned to my father and asked “What does he want me to say?” and Dad then intervened telling the now very defensive guy to knock it off. That kind of low level pressure happens in the health system every day.

Rent controls (e.g. 2% caps) lower rents for sitting tenants short-term but reduce new supply, conversions to owner-occupied, and maintenance incentives. Result: shortages, lower mobility, declining quality, higher unregulated rents. Empirical studies (San Francisco expansion, Cambridge decontrol, meta-reviews) confirm net harm to overall affordability and availability for most renters long-term.

The Anglican Church in New Zealand has a nett asset value of over $2.8 Billion. More than enough to pay for this themselves. Why should tax payers fund any of this at all?
