After 6 months of fieldwork in Bougainville🇵🇬, I'm ready to embark on leg 1 of my #NoFly journey to Germany. Travelling by🚢,🚅,&🚌over 27,000km, I'll emit ~535kg of CO2, 10 times less than✈️. This decision cost me my job, but I still think it was the right thing to do. 1/🧵
