@m17_project This radio has only 16kB of RAM so it cannot do M17 in its current shape. But we are in contact with TalkPod to discuss a future version that will feature more memory and the necessary audio paths to do M17!

Jianpai FT-UV76 (also known as ABBREE AR-518) teardown. We're miles from your bog-standard chinese analog handset: 32-bit µC (AT32F421), HF (25-50)/VHF/UHF single-chip transceiver (BK4802N). Given enough work, porting an open-source FW like @OpenRtx might be feasible :)

@Jaywalker There firmware is not stopping you to do that, you need to check if the hardware filtering needs to be modified in order to Tx at 220.

@m17_project @DamonHasBeen M17 on that radio is a bit of a challenge, we need to investigate audio paths from MCU to baseband and mic/speaker to enable live encoding/decoding. @2ftg1 This one has a Cortex-M4 minus some features (floating point unit), and a color screen. Regarding the RAM both have 16KB.
