@NewbergReport Seems like Joc looks horrible making weak outs, and just ever so slightly less horrible doing something productive.
English

That was a weird PA -- but pleasant outcome.
Jamey Newberg@NewbergReport
It's potentially bizarre that I feel this is as important a Game 4 AB as there could possibly be for Joc.
English

@Evan_P_Grant Well, I prefer a process-based approach in this instance. Not outcome-based. But I like his aggressive style.
English

@Otto_Correct I mean, moving up is good baseball - if you make it. Was it a bit higher-risk, yeah. Did he need to move up at 8-2? No. But given that there were no negative outcomes, I think you just tell him: Good thought, good idea, but let's also consider all the circumstances.

@WDWNT Can't help thinking back to the sheer joy that Miyuki brought to World Showcase for all those years, and now we're left with this extremely faint shadow of her work: a far lesser experience at ridiculous expense. So thankful we got to see her so many times back in the day!

@Evan_P_Grant Not only the obvious, as far as more late inning losses are likely (happily yesterday wasn't one) without a good closer, but maybe underappreciated how a consistent dependable closer helps keep the rest of the bullpen organized so you can win tomorrow and the next day etc.

Rangers column: A win is a win, but a problem at closer is still a problem at closer.

@JeffWilsonTXR Well, or what the Rangers contributed to yesterday. Not throwing up the white flag after day 1, but sorry (not sorry), I saw too much stuff that reminded me of 2024 & 2025 offensively. Today is a new day though, onward and upward!
English

@Evan_P_Grant Looking forward to yet another Rangers season with you Evan!
English

This is such a nice compliment, I had to retweet it. I'm very honored to and grateful for those who consider me a part of their Rangers experience.

@Evan_P_Grant You’re so damn great for 30 years of Rangers baseball!

@WSJ Never saw him officially with Boston, but his solo band was just excellent and super entertaining. It always looked like they were having a great time playing all those timeless Boston tunes. He will be missed.

@TheLeisureProf Too bad it's not the old proper Poly lobby. Could've easily been oscar-worthy!

@Attractions Do they ignore that parks can be the genesis of their precious IP too? Like Pirates: what an impact with the films, global parks, cruises, etc. All from an original Imagineering idea. Given recent films like Elio, is Imagineering actually their best bet to create great IP?
English

"Disneyland Handcrafted" director Leslie Iwerks during our 2024 interview:
"It would be great if Disney could create new content [for theme parks] that’s not just IP-based from films, but come up with some new characters like they did when they started. It obviously makes sense to capitalize on the Pixar IP, the Star Wars IP, and the Marvel IP, but do we always have to be so reliant on IP versus coming up with new ideas that are strictly introduced in the parks or as a wholly new concept?"

@UncleWalt1971 There were 2 CMs that had both been at Sanaa for years, so that made me feel pretty confident the tour has been discontinued. Thanks for the reply and followup.
English

@Otto_Correct After checking it does look like it was discontinued before 2023…the sources were TouringPlans, PlanDisney and The Frugal South.

One of the best hidden experiences at Disney’s Animal Kingdom is the Cultural Tour at Sanaa restaurant. The 20-minute tour, offered free daily at 4:00 p.m. with no reservations required, is often so underattended that it frequently becomes a private experience for just one or two participants, allowing for more personalized interactions. Led by a Cultural Representative from an African country on a temporary Disney assignment, the guide highlights the restaurant's market-like decor with beads and necklaces symbolizing "Kidani" (Swahili for "necklace"), the display of authentic beaded loin cloths, Disney Easter eggs, dining area tribal drums and a unique canopy created from ship sails. The tour culminates in the bar area with a live chef demonstration of the tandoori ovens used for naan and meats, followed by a complimentary sample of Indian-style naan bread paired with exactly three dipping sauces (cucumber raita, mango chutney, and green coriander chutney), selected from the restaurant's full menu of nine bread service options.
