This not particularly exciting building on Ladbroke Road housed the pretty exceptional composer Priaulx Rainier (1903-1986), who lived between here and her studio in St Ives, Cornwall. She owned a Zulu mask which apparently she’d put on at dinner parties to scare her guests.

Despite the prosperity which a thriving arts and culture sector can bring to people and the economy, Conservative Ministers have consistently undervalued these sectors. Labour will celebrate the arts and culture and those who work (and aspire to work) within it. 2/2

Culture should be at the heart of the UK’s future. But this Conservative Government’s #KingsSpeech is another kick in the teeth for creatives. The only mention of the Creative Industries is in relation to the much-delayed Media Bill. And Music is not mentioned at all. 1/2
