Elon Musk has become a trillionaire. If we confiscated just 15% of his wealth we could: clean up all the oceans, eliminate poverty, and literally make the world into a utopia. Instead he chooses to indulge in his phallic obsession with rockets and wants to build data centers in space. You cant even move electricity from space to earth. Dumbest idea ever. All the best, Wolfgang

All of which begs the question: Why? Why was the U.S. government funding dozens of biolabs around the world that were engaged in the manufacture and manipulation of infectious diseases— including the SARS-CoV-2 virus/vaccine— with little to any public knowledge let alone oversight? Why did U.S. public health agencies willfully ignore the grave dangers of the COVID vaccines and lie to the public about their safety and effectiveness? Why were masks— which did little if anything to mitigate transmission of the virus and possibly made it even worse— and lockdowns— which retarded the public’s ability to develop any natural herd immunity— pushed so hard as mitigation solutions? Why were alternative COVID therapies like ivermectin and hydroxychloroquine treated as ‘conspiracy theories’ and effectively banned by authorities from use for the general public? Last but not least, indeed most importantly, WHY did COVID appear WHEN it did— at the most opportune time to disrupt a presidential election, in particular the reelection of Trump who was well on his way to having one of the most successful first terms of any president in modern history? The public deserves real answers to these questions and real accountability for those responsible. Anything less only ensures that this will, not could, happen again.

The revelations six years later are pouring out so quickly that it is impossible to keep up much less mentally process all this: * The Director of National Intelligence has documented 120 US-funded/owned biolabs in 30 countries many of which are manufacturing and manipulating infectious diseases. * Senator Rand Paul's committee has released the receipts concerning US funding/backing of the manufactured SARS-CoV-2 virus/vaccine as part of this program. * Senator Johnson has produced definitive evidence that US public health agencies knew of the grave dangers of the shot to everyone but said nothing. * Many officials are privately admitting/proving that the whole point of lockdowns was to preserve population immunity for the shot and block other avenues toward wellness. * Hardly any of this makes the national news and one wonders if the public mind has any awareness at all.

@intetestedparty Yeah, it will definitely make certain jobs obsolete but will also create a whole new industry of jobs - the only question is whether they cancel each other out, and if not, then what to do with the massive new level of unemployment.

Agreed. But it isn’t likely deflationary for all goods, it likely is mostly deflationary on some goods and a lot of services (to the point where jobs don’t exist because they can’t compete).
Pharon@Pharon70

@intetestedparty Good point and you're right - the higher demand for electronics is definitely inflating those prices but AI in general I think is deflationary in the long term. Raising rates won't fix that short term issue, either. At least not at the expense of destroying way more things.

Not true. A lot of it is driven by electronics, particularly memory. This is partially AI inflation. Terrific memory maybe?

@sancear @KobeissiLetter @grok This inflation is 100% caused by higher oil prices from the Iran situation. Once that is resolved and oil prices fall to the $60-$70 range again, inflation will stabilize. Raising the fed fund rate will wreak havoc in the bond markets and not lower this type of inflation at all.

Inflation in the US is now up to levels that were last seen after $4 trillion in pandemic stimulus was handed out for "free." The worst part? Most Americans have no idea that it is happening.
The Kobeissi Letter@KobeissiLetter

BREAKING: May PPI Inflation surges to 6.5%, above expectations of 6.4% and the highest level since November 2022. Core PPI Inflation came in at 4.9%, in-line with April's revised levels. PPI inflation is now at pandemic stimulus levels. Odds of rate HIKES continue to rise.

THERE IT IS!!! I knew Trump was up to something! He just confirmed that every night, the US MIL are taking “millions of barrels of oil” out of Iran, and he only revealed this because Iran figured it out. Meaning, that the US MIL have been conducting covert operations during this ceasefire. That explains why Trump has seemingly been content with Iran stalling during negotiations. There was a purpose. We are taking the oil! I wouldn’t be surprised if we are also already in the process of extracting the uranium. I wouldn’t be surprised if we just wake up one day, and Trump announces we have it. So while it may seem like nothing is going on, and we are just in limbo, I can assure you, many things are in motion behind the scenes. Trump holds all the cards, and he is positioning himself to have massive momentum leading into the midterms. Gas will be down, stock market will be up, and MAGA will be surging.

$NBIS I see a dozen people asking me if it’s still good to enter here. Instead of repeating myself, here is what I say: I keep saying this, and I said it to people asking the same thing when it hit the low 100s, “is it still a good buy, it’s run up so much” …short term anything can happen. Long term it’s going up a lot. I can’t tell you what to do. Yeah it could come down, but maybe it keeps going up. Sorry. I’m not an oracle. That’s why when I see a generational opportunity I just buy and dont sweat entries. Never have. Never will. But that’s just me….because if it dips 50% after buying I wouldn’t care. In the end you need to do what’s comfortable for YOU. Are you good with buying and being red 1-3 months? Are you good with waiting and seeing another deal announced and it zips to $300 and you have zero shares? Just ask yourself these questions. In these circumstances it’s sometimes prudent to do 1/2 and 1/2. Hope that helps.

🚨 WOW! Rep. Wesley Hunt just made the Democrats SPEECHLESS after dropping straight truth nukes "My own father, who grew up in a segregated South, had to walk around to the back of a restaurant just to order a sandwich because of the color of his skin." "THAT was Jim Crow, and THAT is precisely why it is so offensive to compare that era of legalized discrimination and racial terror to showing a PHOTO ID in a voting booth!" "And it's just as offensive when groups and organizations like these manufacture faux hate and racial tension, requiring identification of vote." "It's not oppression. It is not segregation. It is not racism." "It is a basic standard that applies equally to every single American citizen, regardless of what you look like. You need an ID to board a plane. You need an ID to cash a check." "You need an ID to buy alcohol. You need an ID to enter these very federal buildings. And by the way, attaining an ID in this country is an extremely low bar." "But somehow showing an ID to vote in America is now considered to be Jim Crow 2.0. This is NOT about civil rights. This is about political theater. And the Democrat Party survives on manufacturing grievance." 🫳🏻🎤

Trump picked a random guy nobody's ever heard of who didn't participate in any debates and wiped out seven term incumbent Thomas Massie by what looks to be double digits. Incredible. Trump's political power is at it's apex.

@indepndt4eva @USA90sGal07 @Milajoy @tigerwat48 Massie is the anti-swamp and while I support Trump for the most part, his vendetta against Massie is unconscionable. He voted against the BBB because it continued to add trillions to the deficit. It would be nice to actually see the GOP be fiscally responsible for a change.

Rep. Jamie Raskin spent over 2 minutes trying grill 16-year-old Texas high school student Marco Hunter-Lopez at today’s hearing on political Islam and Sharia Law. What a clown. Marco, who EXPOSED his school allowing "Why Islam" to hand out Qurans, hijabs, and Sharia pamphlets during lunch while censoring conservative clubs, simply pointed out America's Christian heritage and the faith of the Declaration's signers. Raskin interrupted him repeatedly, demanded to know if he believes America is a theocracy, and lectured him on Jefferson's "wall of separation." This is what happens when a 16-year-old patriot stands up for truth in Congress. Marco stood his ground quite well against a man 47 years his senior. Good work, Marco.

🛑🛑To the Britons who suddenly rediscovered their courage after Javier Milei’s comments on the Falklands: two can play this game. You endlessly cite UN resolutions to insist that Judea and Samaria (the West Bank) are Palestinian, not Israeli. Yet the same United Nations has listed the Falkland Islands as a Non-Self-Governing Territory — an unresolved colonial question that demands direct negotiations between the United Kingdom and Argentina. All of a sudden, you don't care when the UN accuses you of colonisation. And, you dismiss its calls for talks with Argentina and instead boast about how you threw them out by military force in 1982, while demanding that Jews and Muslims in the Middle East negotiate with Hamas and the Ayatollahs!!!!!!!!!!!! So it’s all now about power, not international law? Let’s not forget: the Falklands sit 8,000 miles from Britain. The West Bank is literally on Jerusalem’s doorstep. And Argentina didn’t rape and murder 1,200 of your people — including women and children — in a single day. Selective principles, much? While I have your attention, a gentle suggestion to UK politicians and the British public: please “de-escalate” and “negotiate” with President Milei over the Falklands. After all, you constantly lecture Israel — and the world — about the urgent need for de-escalation and negotiations with the Ayatollahs, Hamas, Hezbollah, and every other terrorist outfit. Why the glaring double standard? Remember, as you keep telling us, only peaceful negotiations — never military occupation or force — can resolve the Falklands issue. Just follow the UN resolutions, as you so relentlessly demand of Israel. Good luck with that. P.S. Unlike the many dishonest voices who hold Israel to one standard while applying another to themselves, I am consistent. I believe the Falkland Islands are British. I also believe Judea and Samaria are Israeli. If anyone wants either territory badly enough… come and take it. I believe in military strength — openly, consistently, and without a shred of hypocrisy.

OTTAWA — A new poll has found that 89% of Canadians believe Donald Trump is to blame for Canada’s struggling economy, citing everything from rising grocery prices to housing costs and general financial anxiety. How, exactly, Trump is responsible remains unclear. “It’s complicated,” one respondent said. “But every time something feels off, he seems like a safe bet.” The survey found strong consensus across demographics, with many Canadians expressing confidence in their conclusion despite being unable to point to a direct connection. “I don’t follow all the details,” another participant admitted. “But it just feels related.” Meanwhile, when asked about their own biggest financial concerns, respondents pointed to inflation, taxes, housing affordability, and stagnant wages—issues largely tied to domestic policy. Analysts say the results reflect a growing tendency to assign complex problems to simple, external causes. “It’s easier,” one observer noted. “You don’t have to rethink anything—you just have to agree on who to blame.” Because when the economy gets harder to explain, the explanation doesn’t get more accurate— It just gets louder.
