If Bobby Kennedy hadn’t been assassinated and won the presidency we never would’ve gotten Nixon or fucking Reagan. He was one of the biggest civil rights advocates at the time too. His politics were progressive and would have changed so much in America. We especially wouldn’t be in this current mess. Everyone talks about what America missed out on when JFK was assassinated but I don’t think they realize Bobby was possibly an even greater loss. He was even called “the most trusted white man in America” at one point. He did so much advocacy for racial equality and was acquaintances with MLK. He even was one of the first people to break the news of MLKs assassination at one of his rallies and visited black neighborhoods to try and persuade peaceful protests after what happened. He had a huge amount of support from black Americans which made him stand out. He didn’t focus on a specific race of voters. He talked to everyone and advocated for everyone. He wanted the wealth to pay higher taxes, he wanted to end poverty in America, he wanted to enforce desegregation and protect voting rights for minorities, and he was one of the biggest critics of the Vietnam war. He was like Mamdani in a sea of corrupt politicians who didn’t care about the people. Everyone loved him. Losing him was one of the final nails in the coffin for a progressive America. He would have 100% changed the future of American politics.

Baby, at this point the senate race in Texas is cooked. If Talarico doesn’t raise some money and start going to the black communities he is cooked.

I interviewed Talarico after the runoff, and asked about Crockett, he told me that mending fences was a “top priority” “Listening to [Black voters] concerns, earning their trust, earning their support, because there's no way to win Texas without Black voters.”

For clarity - I do not support Marjorie Taylor Greene, Or any other Ex - MAGA who’ve turned on Trump. They knew what Trump was when they voted for him… 3 times. They’re just pissed Trump finally crossed a line that they were passionate about. The price of gas, and the cost of living. MAGA approved of the racism, MAGA approved of the Rape allegation, MAGA approved of the Pedophile allegations, MAGA approved of the Hate. So no I don’t support any MAGA who’ve turned against Trump. MAGA is still shit. And always will be.

Rep. Mike Collins on his campaign against Ossoff: "We look forward to President Trump helping us in any way that he can. We are the Trump-endorsed candidate. People know I'm the MAGA candidate. I would love to see him down here."

Do you all see the lengths people go through to be right? Like, you not being from Georgia and making a judgment based on how you perceive Georgians to act wholly makes you unqualified. Because how can you say he doesn't exhibit Southern vibes when clearly you're not familiar with the way that Georgians carry themselves? Because Jon Ossoff is someone that we are saying exhibits those vibes. Like, you wouldn't even hear me say that someone like Mark Robinson isn't a good candidate because he doesn't have a North Carolina vibe. I've only been to North Carolina once in my life (2020 pre-COVID). How can I ascertain that? I think he's a bad candidate because of things outside of that. And I’m not QT him because I don’t feel like arguing all day. But YES. You are making a judgement based on if he exhibits the characteristics of a southern person FROM GEORGIA so yeah we’re calling you out and it’s not some “I’m mad because he’s right” Worry about that southern North Carolinian gentleman Roy Cooper lol he’s gonna shake some stuff up too like Georgian Jon Ossoff lol

I was going to have a real high-level response to this, but you live in North Carolina. How are you gonna tell somebody that is from Georgia how Georgians are supposed to act? Lol like what? That man was born in Atlanta, came up in Atlanta, left for college, then came back and got to work. How is he not Georgia, and what do you expect folks from Georgia to act like? Political prognostication on Twitter is so freaking weird. It's almost as weird as sports Twitter, cause it's like, what do y'all be talking about?

One severely under-discussed dynamic about the Georgia Senate race is that Ossoff has 0 Southern vibes. Like, at all. The guy looks, talks, and acts 100% like a wealthy New Englander. Meanwhile Collins, in terms of aesthetics, is about as stereotypically Georgian as you can get. And that stuff DOES matter in politics, Oz vs. Fetterman is a great example of this. I’d still consider Ossoff the favorite, but I don’t think libs who glaze him are grasping how his appeal to the state outside of Atlanta is totally nonexistent. And this is why it WILL be a close race. Candidates like John Fetterman and Mark Kelly who won by fairly comfortable margins didn’t just improve in the suburbs and urban cores, they put up solid performances in virtually every part of their state. Ossoff and his brand of secular, elitist politics are simply not capable of doing the same in a Bible Belt state. Atlanta may not be the place it once was, but outside of that Georgia is still as Georgia as it’s ever been.
