Suddenly, at 6:14 PM ET, Iran's Speaker of the Parliament said Trump made "seven claims in one hour, all seven of which were false." Now, Iran has CLOSED the Strait of Hormuz again and oil tankers are being struck. What just happened behind the scenes?

Iran has drawn a clear line: a ceasefire in Lebanon must begin this evening, or there will be no meeting this week. If that line holds, Tehran will have imposed its condition and forced Lebanon back into the core of the negotiations, rendering the separate Lebanese-Israeli meeting in Washington politically secondary. In practical terms, Iran would have extracted itself from the pressure track without abandoning Lebanon, and done so on its own terms.
