2) If inflation is higher than your interest rate you are sacrificing purchasing power by paying it off early

Can someone explain like I’m 5 why you shouldn’t pay off your home early if the rate is low?
I have no idea why continuing to owe on something you can own outright is the “right strategy” - it’s interest you don’t have to pay in the long run… no matter how low the rate? Right?

My coworker has a 1.99% mortgage. That is something you should NEVER pay off early. Inflation is at least 3%/yr. Why would anyone pay that off aggressively? It makes absolutely 0 sense.

I may or may not have been told the bottom line is Collin Chandler wanted to come home and play in front of friends and family. He was willing to forgoe that if Kentucky paid 3 Million, but he is only asking for 1 Million from the Utah schools. Hard lean to BYU because of coaches
