@DrCherylT This is one of the reasons I’ve been distancing myself from academia. Over the years, I’ve been put off by all the elitism and gate keeping and the dismissal of knowledge keepers because they don’t hold a precious PhD. I just listen to whoever is doing the work, making an impact.

I have resisted calling myself a historian for various reason, as I'm preparing my tenure file (yes it is happening already) I'm thinking I need to own this identity. What do folks think? #historian?

I’ve been using my mom’s dress & lipstick as objects for analysis. Last night she appeared to me in a dream, held me tight & told me that she is proud of me. I lost my mom to cancer when I was 8—so, this might be the most rewarding aspect of my #PhD journey thus far! #phdchat
