It's complicated but here are some thoughts: - the Monad Community was and is one of the genuine communities in crypto - airdrop speculation attracted a lot of additional people who were motivated by the airdrop. It was very difficult to protect the existing community without getting called lots of names for being "gated" etc. IMO, the Community Team did a great job balancing this, but of course the team was not perfect. Lots of people gave a lot of themselves, building friendships, taking on leadership roles, organizing events, etc. It was on the team to evaluate all contributions (while trying to build as many tools to decentralize the decisionmaking). When there's money involved, there can be jealousy or envy. - there was also the problem of people who were not really in the community at all, claiming that they were a part of the community, complaining about being shafted, posting screenshots to "prove" they were "one of the 5500" or whatever. It is a similar problem to random NFT projects deploying on Monad, failing to mint out, complaining about not receiving support, and spreading negativity. There's nothing you can really say or do to appease these folks, and when community members respond it also generates more negative messaging and noise. - the negativity gets picked up by people looking for engagement, who post screenshots and hot takes. In a bear market, where lots of people are down bad, there is a desire to tear others down. I guess the solution would be to not airdrop at all, and to make that super clear as early as possible. But that would also be wrong (in my opinion) since we do feel that the community members were and are a big part of Monad's success. Some other projects have taken the approach of letting whitelisted people buy at discounted prices - I understand the logic but I think it unfairly discriminates against those who have no money at all. And also what if the "low price" you choose is actually not low enough in a severe market downturn? (We are seeing that now with a lot of other projects.) I also don't begrudge anyone who was very active in the Monad Community, but has since moved on to some other pre-TGE community. Everyone is entitled to their own choices. TGE was a rite of passage. Things have become a lot clearer since then. The community that continues to be active is truly special. It is clear that these are the folks who were true Monad supporters. 100 such people are more important to the success of the project than thousands before mainnet. To the folks that are still here, supporting the project and the builders, I am extremely grateful, and certain that we will make you proud. Nothing is easy, but we are not afraid of the challenge.

monad and its community is one of the best things that ever happened to me. i made real friends in the 2.5 years Ive been here, found work in the ecosystem, travelled because of it, even hosted the monad team in turkey. for a long time it felt closer than my own family. somewhere during testnet that changed completely. boredom, pressure, whatever it was, things got weird and hostile. people stopped backing each other and started picking at each other. after the rocky launch it only got worse. there are now people i used to talk to daily that i haven’t spoken to in months or people who have suddenly become extremely toxic i’m not part of the megaeth culture. all i knew for a long time was the back and forth between our communities. i now own a few WCN and spoke a bit with washi. from the outside at least, even with their own launch issues and similar outside fud crusade, i don’t see the same cannibalistic energy over there. i’m still a monad maxi first. i believe in the team and the tech and the moltiverse hackathon and nitro initiatives prove me right. but the og community needs a wake up call. i hear thailand meetup was great and free of drama. so it can still be the crazy monad community that was so famous back in the day when people touch grass together. no reason those vibes can’t exist when everyone is back home

@everyone Price of $PYRO has been corrected! In the next following days I’m securing 1 million $MON for $PYRO treasury that is staked on Backpack. And all rewards from staking will be added to $PYRO liquidity daily, around 400-500 $MON until whole supply reaches circulation. We will get $PYRO back online as soon as this weekend! Thank you for your attention to this matter! #Pyronad #Monad

Why don’t you buy projects coins/tokens of the DeFi markets and list them on Binance? Why are you asking for projects to give Binance 10% of their circulating supply? What are you accumulating billions of dollars for? For centralization or de-centralization? You have been a money grabbing puppet since you entered the space. What changes are you bringing to the table? What value are you talking about, when it’s all just take, collect and get rich, and not doing anything to make a change. Despite of billions you stole from ppl on fake promises, you have failed miserably

Unpopular opinion post: On Listing "Fees" (saw this a few times recently) 1. If you are a project complaining about listing airdrops or "fees" (to users), Don't pay it. If your project is strong, exchanges will race to list your coin. If you have to beg an exchange to list, then... You need to ask yourself why, and who is providing value to whom. 2. If you complain about a competitor exchange's listing fees, then by all means, make your own listing fees 0, and be happy. In fact, why not set all your fees to 0? including trading fees? In a decentralized world, businesses are free to have their own business models. No one is forcing you to adopt a certain model. Focus on treating your users well. Don't focus on your competitors. 3. If you are a bag holder of a coin, complain to the project. Not the exchange. Or use a DEX. 4. PancakeSwap doesn't have listing fees, and has very good volumes. Further on this topic, exchanges adopt different listing models. 1. List everything on every blockchain. Most tokens are scams. Of the real "hard working" projects, most fail. Only a few projects will succeed. 2. Selectively list and make listing fee a revenue source. It's fine business model if you can attractive enough projects to list. Many small exchanges use this model, as they don't have enough trading fee revenue. 3. Selectively list. Ask for Airdrops to users. Security deposits, to make scams and failed projects more expensive to pull off. Protect users. These models are not black and white, and many exchanges adopt a combination of them between spot listing, futures listing, alpha listing, web3 wallet buys, etc. Work on your project, not other people. 🙏

Why don’t you list #BNB then? Stop with the hypocrisy and double standards. Unless BNB (the third largest cryptocurrency by market cap) gets listed on Coinbase, your opinion of how another exchange should list cryptocurrencies is meaningless. Lead by example.
