Some might call $80k absurd, but I think it's highly plausible within 10 years. For Eth to reach this price, it would need a $10 trillion market cap. Given Ethereum's potential as the settlement layer for a new financial system, a $10 trillion market cap doesn't seem far-fetched.

I read the @coingecko 2024 report this weekend so you don't have to. Here is what it had to say about RWAs ⬇️⬇️⬇️ 1/ But first, what are RWAs? Real World Assets (RWAs) connect DeFi to real-world economic activity. While approaches vary, the core idea is that tokens issued by RWA protocols are backed by real-world assets like treasuries, real estate, and private credit. 2/ Why do they matter? People are drawn to DeFi mainly for the yield. Historically, much of this yield has been subsidized through governance token emissions, which is effective for bootstrapping but unsustainable long-term. Real World Assets (RWAs) solve this by providing genuine, long-term yield backed by real cash flows. 3/ The market is waking up to this, with the RWA sector capturing 8.64% of crypto mindshare according to CoinGecko web traffic. This makes it the third-largest category by mindshare, following AI and Meme Coins. 4/ This mindshare helped RWAs become one of DeFi's top sectors in 2024, with Q4 TVL growth of 152.7% QoQ. Yet, they still only make up just 3.5% ($8.07B) of all DeFi TVL according to the report! There is tons of room for growth with @BlackRock and others believing that all financial assets will eventually be tokenized. 5/ With that being said, some up-and-coming RWA projects to watch in 2025 are @plumenetwork, @Qiro_Finance, @creditcoop_xyz, @landxfinance, and @ZivoeProtocol, to name a few. Community Call #1 || @maplefinance 🥞 Yesterday, we had the pleasure of attending Maple's first community call. Here's a summary of the key takeaways in case you couldn't attend it: 2024 was an outstanding year for Maple, marked by impressive growth in TVL, number of borrowers, revenue, and other key metrics. But unfortunately the migration from $MPL to $SYRUP in November slightly dampened the positive momentum. However, 2025 is shaping up to be even better than 2024, and this migration period will soon be a thing of the past. Maple is now positioned at the confluence of three major market trends: 🔸Institutions coming on-chain. 🔸The rapid growth of asset tokenization sector. 🔸Increasingly clear and structured regulation. Maple aims to capitalize on this confluence of trends to establish itself in everyone's mind as the go-to platform for anything related to institutional loans. - New products launching in Q1 2025 - Despite the remarkable growth recorded in 2024, Maple is not resting on its laurels. The team continues to build with the launch of two new products scheduled for the first quarter 2025: 🔸BTC Yield product: Designed for $BTC holders who currently earn no interest on their assets. This product offers a competitive yield of over 5% while minimizing counterparty risks, enabling investors to maximize their BTC’s potential without selling or triggering taxable gains. 🔸Lend and Long product: A structured lending product that combines stable returns with upside exposure to Bitcoin. Investors deposit dollars and earn a minimum yield higher than T-bills. If $BTC experiences significant upside, returns can reach 25-40% thanks to a call spread options strategy funded by the underlying loan yields. - SyrupFI to a next level - SyrupFI (launched 6 months ago) is entering a maturity phase with key enhancements planned for Q1. The primary focus is on streamlining the product to deliver more predictable and consistent yields, making it increasingly attractive for integrations and partnerships within DeFi and fintech ecosystems. - Community and $SYRUP Token - In 2024, Maple's focus was on product development and institutional relationships. In 2025, the focus will be broadened to include both the community and the token. Therefore, two important governance proposals are on the horizon: 🔸Incentives for $Syrup Stakers: With Maple now at a mature stage, the team plan to implement a buyback program, redistributing 20% of its revenue to $Syrup stakers. 🔸Closing the $MPL → $Syrup migration: The migration period will end in April 2025. Additionally, 50% of unconverted tokens will be burned to reduce supply. If you haven’t migrated your tokens yet, now is the time ! Once the migration is complete, the ecosystem will focus solely on one token, eliminating confusion. Expect to see more engagement from Maple, with increased public materials, more posts on X, and community calls every two weeks. - Conclusion - This first community call sets a promising tone for Maple in 2025, and we encourage you to join the next one in two weeks. Token migrations are never simple, as we've seen few days ago with the transition from $FTM to $S. However, in this case, it was a necessary step to enable staking (with already 50% of $SYRUP staked, btw) and to recapitalize the treasury. This migration will soon be behind us, allowing the project to move forward stronger than ever. Now, it’s up to us as a community to show our support and help create positive momentum for the exciting year ahead.
