Great meeting with Nancy Messonnier, Dean of the UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health. She shared progress made thanks to the $30 million included in recent appropriations bills and thanked me for Congress’s continued support. Strong public health programs and research at UNC-Chapel Hill help protect communities across North Carolina and the nation.

It was a pleasure to meet with Mayor Hines of Winterville. I’m proud to have secured over $2 million for the town in Community Project Funding earlier this year!

The @WaysandMeansGOP Subcommittee on Trade held a hearing ahead of the 14th WTO Ministerial Conference to discuss goals for the United States in the global trade market. We must continue to push back against unfair trade practices, particularly those affecting American agriculture, and protect American workers, farmers, and businesses.

Honored to speak with the American Podiatric Medical Association about the role physicians play in shaping health policy. As Chair of the GOP Doctors Caucus, I discussed Medicare reimbursement reform, reducing prior authorization burdens, and the importance of physician advocacy. Great to meet with podiatrists, residents, and students in town this week!

May God bless Susie Wiles in this challenging time and give her peace and healing. I’m grateful to hear that she caught the cancer early and is no doubt being taken care of by a world-class medical team. Wendy and I are praying for her. Cancers are much more curable when detected early. I highly recommend regular screening mammograms for women and PSA screenings for men.
