@RhysMeredith23@andyvasily@meaningfulPE@GaryZDPE Intriguing that no one really brought their strategy preferences. When my Ss get to pick between LXs with differing structure thatโs a piece that fits in.
Also appreciated the honesty about weather.
Outside of that I have Ss who have similar shares.
Our students chose whether to try the team game of handball or the personal pursuit of tennis.
We asked them why?
- Its more fun
- I can be with Friends
- The right challenge
Any feedback?

@RhysMeredith23@andyvasily@meaningfulPE@GaryZDPE Terrific way to allow students to express themselves, especially b/c itโs anonymous.
I wonder if, instead of asking a question that reflects on the past you could pose one that moves the class forward:
-what made this engaging for you that we could carry over to other units?
@GaryZDPE@andyvasily@meaningfulPE Thanks @GaryZDPE we are going to continue this. Give the students exposure to a personal pursuit and a team game for 2 lessons each. Then they will pick which one they will focus on for the final 2 lessons.
Golf and hockey coming up! Which will they prefer??
@RhysMeredith23@andyvasily@meaningfulPE Looking at the sticky notes, I see several students justifying their choices - great way to keep the rigor of your questioning high!
Of course, love the social skills objective around showing respect ๐๐งก
Amazing work, as always Rhys!!
#PhysEd Question of the Day
How often does school administration come into your gym or class space? Is this more or less than they typically visit other techers?

@GaryZDPE@passion4physed2 Something I find hard is whether to do a variety of sports or focus longer on one?
What are your thoughts on this? More variety? or greater focus?
Have questions for an upcoming Q&A episode of the podcast?
Drop them here and @passion4physed2 and I would love to discuss them on the show ๐

@ThePEUmbrella My thinking behind this is that I can create fair teams with enabling the students to have input and a voice.
Also no one is ever picked last.
You're delivering a PE lesson in primary school. You need to get the children into teams of say 4/5.
What's your go to method that works quickly, efficiently and keeps the flow of the lesson?

@ThePEUmbrella So crucial! I would also at the start of the year ask them for what sports, games and activities they want to do. Then if it fits try and include there views.
Asking for and listening to student voice helps increase engagement and gives students a greater sense of ownership.
You're back after Easter and look into your [insert PE scheme] scheme of work.
You see your year 3 class have a half term of Tennis.
Yay or nay?
Positives?
Negatives?
Anybody actually have this lined up?
