Kevin Lee Lloyd was poisoned during Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2007 while serving with 2nd Battalion, 3rd Marines, Fox Company out of Kaneohe Bay—after being ordered into burn pits. That exposure led to the cancer that killed him. The Marine Corps took two years to process his paperwork—and didn’t approve his medical retirement until the day after he died.
