I've been a Panthers fan since 1993, spare us your comments. Game was on a Thursday night and no playoffs on the line at this point. When Minnesota has nothing on the line, let me know if your building is filled.
Fans have to shell out that money to make games, hard to ask them to keep filling an arena with the season basically over in a few weeks.
Come next season when the team is healthy and back to Stanley Cup form, the barn will be packed.

Perhaps a day will come when the Minnesota Vikings won't have to accept another team's rejects at the quarterback position.
Probably not in my lifetime. Most likely not in yours, either.

and the Cardinals may actively seek to get rid of murray; i don't know that the 49ers are in a rush to offload jones

If we assume these two things:
a) The Vikings won't drop Kwesi Adofo-Mensah and Kevin O'Connell because their extensions haven't even kicked in yet
b) J.J. McCarthy is not the long-term QB1
... the only escape hatch, to me, would be acquiring Kyler Murray in the offseason. 🤷♂️

Should the Vikings choose to bring in Kyler Murray (I hope they do), by no means does that mean they’re giving up on JJ McCarthy.

The one season where Bridgewater "led" the Vikings to the playoffs, he threw 14 touchdown passes in 17 games, including the playoffs.
He had multiple touchdown passes in two games: one game with four and one game with two.
He had seven games, including the playoff game, with zero touchdown passes. (The Vikings went 4-3 in those games.)
But man. . .this fan base would have absolutely thrown themselves on a grenade for Teddy Bridgewater if they had been asked to.
You think this fan base would accept 14 TD passes in 17 games from J.J. McCarthy? I sincerely doubt it.

Because there's a significant portion of this fan base who has decided, after 10 games, that J.J. McCarthy just isn't "the guy."
A lot of them are the same people who were convinced that Teddy Bridgewater was "the guy" before he ever took an NFL snap and held onto the belief that he was "the guy" absent any sort of credible evidence of that conclusion, whether it was pre-injury or post-injury.
For a lot of this fan base, it isn't about potential or whether you've shown any sort of ability. It's whether or not they like you. People liked Teddy and were willing to make whatever excuse they could for him. People don't like J.J. and want to cast him off to the Spartan hillside already.
It really is kind of that simple.

I gotta say this — and some might not like it. I don’t see the overwhelming infatuation on Vikings Twitter with Kyler Murray. It bothers me because just over a year ago, a lot of people were big on drafting a young quarterback and letting him develop into the franchise QB. Now suddenly the focus has shifted to a quarterback who hasn’t had much team success in seven seasons in the NFL and has dealt with frequent injuries. I just don’t get it. Maybe some people are subconsciously hoping for another Sam Darnold-type situation, but I really don’t think Kyler automatically puts the Vikings in Super Bowl contention. And here’s the real question: does bringing him in stunt the potential growth of J.J. McCarthy? Or are the Vikings just repeating the same cycle they’ve followed for the past 20+ years — bringing in veteran stopgap quarterbacks who might pop for a season, but ultimately lead to no real postseason success? I’m just asking the question. Some people will call me a hater or whatever — I really don’t care. But what happens if the Vikings do sign Kyler Murray and things don’t go as planned? What if he struggles or gets injured again? Are we going to jump right back on Twitter demanding McCarthy start? At some point we have to stop jumping from quarterback to quarterback. Development on the roster matters, and that’s one of the main reasons this franchise hasn’t reached a Super Bowl.

Another #Vikings target on my radar: Steelers CB James Pierre Became starting corner across from JPJ in Pittsburgh in Week 10 and from there: 🏈 46.4% completion allowed when targeted (9th best among corners facing 20 targets) 🏈 -5.7 receptions over expected (2nd best) 🏈 Made play on the ball 25% of targets (7th best) Additionally, overall in 2025, he had (among qualifying corners): 🏈 88.9 PFF coverage grade (1st) 🏈 29% forced incompletion percentage (1st) 🏈 9 PBUs (T-7th, but much lower snap count than everyone in front of him) 🏈 57.2 passing rating allowed (5th) 🏈 0 penalties (T-1st) 🏈 45.7% overall completion allowed (3rd) If he starts earlier, his numbers rival NE’s Christian Gonzales.
