Governor Abba Lays a Foundation for a Giant Secondary School The Executive Governor of Kano State Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has laid a foundation for the construction of a giant Secondary School at Kaura Goge, Nasarawa Local Government. The school if completed would replace the famous Maikwatashi school that was dilapidated and suffered encroachment and fraudulently sold off parts of the land by unscrupulous people. This led the peoples governor to intervene, and promise to build a new school in replacement of Maikwatashi. Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf said he had handed over the ownership of Maikwatashi school to the Kano State Colleges of Arts and Islamic Studies (CAS) in view to utilize it for educational purposes. This was contained in a press release issued by Mustapha Muhammad the Chief Press Secretary to the Kano State Governor Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf. Governor Abba in his speech stated that the construction of this school will ease the suffering of students around the area that they had to move far away to attend school as far as Sabon gari areas. "There are huge number of students in this area that had to go to Sabongari for schooling, that's why we want to build a school here." The Governor has urged the residents of the area to cooperate with the contractor and warned the contractor to do very good job. Earlier in his address the commissioner for education, Goni Ali Haruna Makoda said the giant school will gulp N1.3 billion naira. The school will house 32 classrooms, 36 toilets, 4 libraries among other structures. Ali Makoda described the laying foundation of the school as promise made promise kept by the peoples governor Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf.
