@codyy11_ I think the plan is for McCarthy and Wentz to battle it out for the QB2 job. If McCarthy can't beat him out, he'll probably be traded.

If McCarthy is Qb3 (like I am assuming he is).. no reason not to trade him while you can What I don't understand is if this was the plan, why put out all these negative things that are plummeting any value he had left. I just don't see them letting Wentz be QB3 in my opinion

The Minnesota Vikings just signed Carson Wentz as most likely a backup. The chances of the team trading JJ McCarthy have increased substantially with Wentz and Murray now on the team. What should the team get IF he is traded in return?

Did everyone just collectively black out on what the Vikings said after the season? They literally told us they wanted a ‘dramatically more competitive' QB room. The Wentz signing was always happening, no matter who else is in the building. Can we just let it this play out?

I'd love it if J.J. McCarthy hadn't flopped to this point too. (I'd also have loved just drafting Bo Nix) What I don't love is the amount of people wanting to talk themselves into wasting more of Justin Jefferson so you can find out if the draft capital you invested three years ago will work.

@VikingsFan26 Half the Colts fanbase screamed about the moving off of Richardson last offseason. That's a better example since Purdy bailed the 49ers out.

The Minnesota Vikings have showed us ALL what they think of JJ McCarthy. Went out and signed Kyler Murray then said let’s make sure if anything happens that we don’t have to put the ball in 9’s hands and sign Carson Wentz back. I fear his dynasty value is heading to a big fat ZERO, sad I was high on him coming out. Gotta own the misses man…..

@DaveKluge He's not in an actual competition with Kyler. He already lost tbe starting job. He's battling to be the backup.

Carson Wentz's last two seasons: 2023 -- QB2 for Matthew Stafford (Nov-Jan) 2024 -- QB2 for Patrick Mahomes 2025 -- QB2 turned starter for 5 games in MN. Threw for 300+ twice. Posted a slightly below average passer rating. You think he's signing as QB3 on March 19? 🤔 Nah. Wentz was almost certainly told he's QB2 over JJ McCarthy. Otherwise, he would have surveyed the QB landscape until summer like he did last year. McCarthy is almost certainly QB3 now.

@longtimegone65 People made fun of Sean Payton when he gloated about trading up for JJ. He wasn't lying. They fell for the classic late riser QB who's actual college talent and production didn't warrant an early 1st round pick.

If JJ is now the presumptive QB3 why did we draft him? Who’s to blame? What an embarrassing situation. Kewsi is gone KOC should be gone and half the scouting dept should be gone. How do you get it so so wrong? And his injuries have nothing to do with it. Poor talent evaluation.

@VikesCentral It depends on how the camp battle goes. If he is QB3 and can't beat out Wentz, probably. If he (like he should at this point) beats Wentz out for the backup spot, then no.

I don't think the Wentz signing has impact on McCarthy's roster status. I think the Vikings just don't want Brosmer to see the field in 2026. I believe Murray is the starter and it's an open competition for QB2 JMO

@whoknowsvikes @TPPSkol I don't think that. I believe they'll battle it out. It is more that if JJ actually can't beat out Wentz, the writing is pretty much on the wall. They'll give McCarthy the shot to win the backup job.

The Afroman Trial. -Cops raid Afromans house for bullshit reasons. -Steal money, break his door, fuck his house up. -No criminality found whatsoever, no charges at all pressed on Afroman. -Afroman spends the next 3 years making songs that make fun of all the officers involved by name, even using footage of the raid from his own CCTV cameras. -Songs had titles like "Randy Walters is a son of a bitch" and "Lick Em Low Lisa" accusing one of the officers of being a lesbian and sleeping with the other officers wives. -During the raid one officer looked like he was about to eat some lemon pound cake sitting on Afromans counter, Afroman made a whole album calling the officer fat. -The cops get mad and file a lawsuit for defamation. -Afroman turns up to court in a whole American flag suit. -Officers performatively mald and cry while listening to the songs really trying to oversell how badly the songs upset them. -One officer was suing because Afroman made a whole song about him saying he was fucking the officers wife. When the officer was asked if Afroman was really fucking his wife, he said "I don't know". Nuking his own case and establishing that there is a non-zero chance that Afroman might actually be fucking his wife. -As his only witness for the trial, Afroman brought a deputies EX FUCKING WIFE. -The jury ruled completely in favour of Afroman. This entire thing has been a great win for free speech and absolutely fucking hilarious.

Fine with this assuming we roll with 3 QB’s Trading JJ McCarthy after 10 starts where he showed clear signs of progress towards the end of the year would be a horrendous decision
