Visited Glasgow recently. As much as I am disgusted with liberal city leadership in the US….Glasgow was really bad. Graffiti, Migrant Gangs, and Trash everywhere. Saw this guy get jumped by in St Enoch’s Square. Not a cop within yelling distance. The culprits certainly didn’t look Scottish. On the other hand Edinburgh, St Andrews, and every place in between was lovely.

Andy Burnham is set to become the United Kingdom’s first Catholic prime minister. He said he was deeply moved by the life of Pope Francis. Upon his death, he said Francis “spoke for equality and compassion and for humanity, in a world where we see political leaders target minorities and marginalize people in the search for votes”.

The Billy Boys were one of the most famous street gangs in Glasgow's history. Formed in the east end during the 1920s and led by Billy Fullerton, they became known for their fierce loyalty to King, country and Protestant identity. Based around Bridgeton, they were part of a rough, hard world of poverty, territorial rivalries and street violence that shaped much of interwar Glasgow. Their name lives on through the might Rangers song Hello, Hello, We Are the Billy Boys. They were a street gang from a very different era, when neighbourhood loyalties, religion and local identity often ran deep.
