Mitchell Robinson There’s 3 possibilities for his 5th pinky finger fracture that just had surgery. 1. 5th metacarpal shaft (IM screw) and can play with a small splint. 2. Mallet finger fracture, pin and play with a splint. This is what Dirk Nowinski had in 2011 against Miami without surgery and did fine. 3. Collateral ligament injuries fixed with a screw or anchor, more rare and probably more risk to play. Thankfully he’s a center, so it easier to get back than say a PG. If I had to guess he suffered a Mallet finger fracture. He/the Knicks got lucky the Spurs/Thunder series is going 7, giving him more time. Game 1 is set for next Wednesday, June 3. So this is bought him a week+. Unclear if he will be cleared/effective in Game 1 but good chance he will play with a splint. @InjuryExpertz

Mitchell Robinson got tangled up with several Cavs with 5:25 to go in 2nd quarter of Game 4. He ended up on the ground. On game broadcast, you can see a teammate go for Robinson's right hand to help him off the floor and Robinson pulls it away. Robinson remained in the game, apparently playing through the injury. Unclear if this is the specific point where Robinson suffered the broken right pinky, but if it is, it's a good for NYK that he was able to play through it
