I have a few reactions to this… a little bit of something for everyone. Before anyone comes after for me for what I am about to say, understand that I’ve worked in the media actively since I was 18. I know a hit about how the sausage is made. FIrst and most importantly… if you are a young person just starting out in media and want to one day be a talk show host, DO NOT do what Dan Patrick is doing in this video. It’s the best way to burn a bridge and ensure high-profile guests don’t come on your show. Dan Patrick can get away with it because he’s… Dan Patrick. 2. The hubris from Dan to intimate that the WNBA can’t be taken seriously unless the commissioner comes on HIS show is one of the more laughable things I have ever heard. Tell me something, when was the last time you were talking to your friends about sports and they said “I was listening to/watching the Dan Patrick show the other day and…” Let’s all be honest. Not very often/if at all. 3. It is a bad look from Englebert. It’s the first in a long line of bad looks from Englebert. She could be the most toothless/feckless Commissioner in all of sports. And yet her league is still on the rise in spite of her. To the other people that are considered to be “professionals” that are sucking up to Dan Patrick with retweets and comments, just stop. You look like a bunch of sycophants. If I am Englebert, I go on with Cowherd first thing on Monday or Tuesday and answer all the hard questions. Then Dan’s 15 minutes of people caring about his show goes away and is replaced by the headlines that DP could have gotten if he didn’t grandstand.

Dan Patrick on WNBA commissioner Cathy Engelbert cancelling her appearance on the show: "If you want to be treated as a serious league, this is what happens! These are tough questions, but this is a fair outlet for you – a fair platform. I will treat you with respect."

“The New York Knicks announce today that the team has re-signed Jordan Clarkson. During the 2026 NBA Championship run, he averaged 4.9 points and 1.7 rebounds over 10.8 minutes in 18 games. This past season, Clarkson (8,656 career points off the bench) surpassed Kevin McHale (8,399), Manu Ginobili (8,278) and Vinnie Johnson (8,136) for the eighth most points off the bench in NBA history. He recorded his 141st career game scoring 20+ points off the bench after registering a season-high 27 points on 66.7-percent shooting, five rebounds and three assists against Utah (Mar 11), which ranks seventh in NBA History. The 12-year vet holds career averages of 15.3 points, 3.2 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 0.8 steals over 26.8 minutes in 825 games (232 starts) while playing for the Lakers, Cavaliers, Jazz and Knicks. The Tampa, FL-native was originally selected by the Washington Wizards with the 46th overall pick in the 2014 NBA Draft out of Missouri. During the 2022-23 season with the Jazz the 12-year vet posted a career best 20.8 points to go along with 4.4 assists and 4.0 rebounds over 32.6 minutes in 61 games (all starts). Clarkson was named the 2021 NBA Sixth Man of the Year after averaging 18.4 points, 4.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 0.9 steals over 26.7 minutes in 68 games (one start) becoming the first Jazz player to receive the award. During the 2020-21 season, he also scored 40+ points in two games, 30+ points in five games, and 20+ points in 23 games all while coming off the bench. Clarkson was named to the 2015 NBA All-Rookie First Team, after averaging 11.9 points, 3.5 assists, 3.2 rebounds, and 0.9 steals over 25.0 minutes in 59 games (38 starts) with the Lakers. He finished his collegiate career averaging 15.4 points, 3.3 rebounds, 2.7 assists, and 0.9 steals over 31.7 minutes in 93 games (75 starts) for Missouri and Tulsa. As a junior, Clarkson earned Second-Team All-SEC after recording 17.5 points, 3.8 rebounds, 3.4 assists, and 1.1 steals over 35.1 minutes in 35 games (all starts). He was also named 2012 First-Team All-C-USA and 2011 C-USA All Freshman Team.”

I think most recent discourse about max deals (Donovan, Jaylen Brown, Booker, etc) misses the point The real problem is: The system just doesnt make sense. It simply isnt logical that players are eligible to make more money at 34 (when they're washed) than at 28 (in their prime)

NYK was interested in Jonas Valanciunas in ‘24 offseason. "We had a lot of talks with different teams. New York (was) one of them,” he said then. NYK will have solid depth at center if Valanciunas, a former client of Leon Rose, chooses Knicks in his current free agency. He is among centers on their radar
Michael Scotto@MikeAScotto

JUST IN: The Denver Nuggets are waiving center Jonas Valanciunas, league sources told @hoopshype. He had a fully guaranteed $10 million decision today. Denver will now owe Valanciunas $2 million for the 2026-27 season. He’s averaged 12.8 points and 9.0 rebounds in 14 NBA seasons.

Knicks Senior VP Basketball Operations Gersson Rosas on LinkedIn (left): "More than 20 years ago, I began chasing the dream of helping build an NBA Championship team. Today, I'm humbled and incredibly grateful to have been part of bringing a championship back to New York as a front office member of the New York Knicks. As special as this moment is, I've come to realize the journey was every bit as fulfilling as the destination. But what I'll remember most are the people. I'm forever grateful to have shared this journey with such an incredible group of players, coaches, staff, ownership, family, friends, and teammates. Championships are never built by one person. They are built by extraordinary people who sacrifice for one another every single day. In the end, it's never just about what you accomplish. It's about who you get to accomplish it with. To be part of restoring championship basketball to New York is something I'll never take for granted. This city expects excellence, embraces hard work, and lives every moment with its team. The energy inside the Garden, the resilience of this organization, and the unwavering loyalty of Knicks fans through every high and low make this championship unlike any other. Most importantly, this belongs to the fans. You waited, believed, and never stopped showing up. Forever grateful for the journey, the relationships, and a moment that will stay with me for the rest of my life. It Is Written. 10 Weeks. TGBTG NBA CHAMPIONS🏆🗽"
