As we close out the season, we want to thank everyone who has believed in @TheMassCo and the work we have done since day one on 10/22/2022. The support from members, fans, and supporters has meant a lot, and the messages, calls, and texts after yesterday’s win were appreciated and cherished. But let’s be honest. One good moment cannot hide the bigger picture. An 8th place finish in the MAC is simply unacceptable. For a brief moment yesterday it felt good, but it also felt like lipstick on a pig. The same explanations, the same lack of accountability, and the same results year after year cannot continue. That is not the standard this program should accept. We also take responsibility on our end. We set out to help deliver something better for our members and supporters and we fell short of that. We can say with complete confidence it was not due to a lack of effort. Having a seat at the table as supporters matters. But who you are sitting with, and who is at the head of the table, matters just as much. We will take some time after the season to unwind and reevaluate our role moving forward. For now, we simply wanted to say thank you to our supporters and fellow fans who have stood with us. Your belief and passion for UMass Basketball means a great deal and deserves to be rewarded. #GoUMass

110 left. Virginia Tech has announced they have declined a NIT bid due to the health status of their roster and they think it’s best to “conclude our season at this time” with hopes of making the 2027 NCAA tournament. This essentially puts their fringe at large case to rest.

I remember when UMass moved to the MAC and everyone was saying how worried we should be; “they have so much money compared to us”. Now they’re bringing 3 cheerleaders and 8 band members to the MAC Tournament and going winless in football.
