@ShaneDernelley @DunkenKBliths @CuriousAboutEVs And granted, even if biofuel removes some well-to-tank emissions generated from other petrol based fuels, that doesn't magically cause exhaust emissions to disappear or increase the efficiency of a petrol powertrain anywhere close to that of an EV.

6.5 years later (never having a service), decided to take my car in for a checkup...absolutley nothing wrong with it. Changed the tyres once, a few windscreen wipers and air filters. Can still pull a 3.3second 0-100 And cost about $300 over its lifetime to charge...

@ShaneDernelley @DunkenKBliths Well at least you are honest about being a bullshit artist ! 🤣 What length of time did you say your diesel would be cheaper ?

@ShaneDernelley @DunkenKBliths @CuriousAboutEVs No, but where are most coal power plant located? It would be surrounded by Forrest or farmland IE vegetation, you know those green things that sequester carbon? If anything that would probably increase crop yields, but I don't expect you to think that deep.

@ShaneDernelley @DunkenKBliths @CuriousAboutEVs The fact that the centralized power plant is a stationary device, not bound by weight or size compared to the environmental systems in a combustion engine car like EGR, carts etc... means they can be built to be more effective, this is just common sense.

@ShaneDernelley @DunkenKBliths @CuriousAboutEVs And not only would the "coal powered" EV be effectively cleaner, it would be overall cleaner than petrol, your comparing the thermal efficiency and emissions of 1 centralized power plant to perhaps 10s of thousands of individual combustion engines to generate equal energy

@ShaneDernelley @DunkenKBliths @CuriousAboutEVs Even in a situation where a power grid was 100% coal powered (I'm not aware of any instance of this in a first world developed nation) the "coal powered" EV would still effectively be cleaner to the end user in that the emissions would be generated hundreds of miles away 1/2

@ShaneDernelley @DunkenKBliths lethargic part might be caused by stupid ventilation systems that dont allow enough fresh air in, but thats generally new car problem not ev

@ShaneDernelley @DunkenKBliths By the time any EV needs a battery replacement, you'll have replaced your engine and transmission about 6 times, and gotten another car. EV comes out way ahead of ancient polluting tech in every way.
