6.5 years later (never having a service), decided to take my car in for a checkup...absolutley nothing wrong with it.
Changed the tyres once, a few windscreen wipers and air filters.
Can still pull a 3.3second 0-100
And cost about $300 over its lifetime to charge...

Well that’s just rubbish. I don’t even have an EV anymore but my Hilux (probably the cheapest diesel truck as far as maintenance) has been and will continue to be far far more expensive than an EV.
I’ll have done 20 oil changes, 4 sets of front pads, 32k litres of diesel, plenty of filters etc when I hit 200k miles
A Tesla will have probably just done its first break change and some cabin filters and around 4-8k in charging costs.

Yet they only manage to convert 25% of the energy burnt into forward motion.
EV’s are using 80% of the energy to drive the wheels.

@ShaneDernelley @DunkenKBliths Where I live electricity for my EV is coming from 70% wind, 10% nuclear and just 5% fossil fuel
As for China, they are quickly ramping up solar and wind, for 5 years already.
For sure, some way to go yet to replace decades of fossil fuel reliance, but fossil fuel mix is reducing
